So I went into this assuming I would dislike it (since you know, the original is such a classic, you could never imagine that a modern version could be up to par with it) but I believe ALTHOUGH IT WAS STILL A GORE MOVIE... it was done so well!! I CLEARLY hated the gore (sorry for the covering eyes and major freakouts, i just CANNOT handle them :(!! ) but I believe the acting, pacing and effects were solid, and the story was executed well! I can safely say for such a gore fest, me being unbiased; it was a solid film!

2022-10-15 17:28:29 +0000 UTCSupposedly they used 70,000 gallons of fake blood (50,000 for the final scene) and without the use of CGI. A pretty solid remake honestly. Can't believe you made yourself suffer twice for this series lol.

One thing: while I donโt think that itโs so important that you go out of your way to see it, there is actually a โsceneโ after the credits. Maybe revisit that should you continue the series.

The movie that was supposed to lead to an epic crossover with Ash and Mia that we never got, which yes I'm still salty about. Yeah we got Ash vs The Evil Dead, and that was pretty great, but c'mon, that crossover would've been awesome. Regardless, really good movie. In fact, I actually think I like it more than Evil Dead 1... but not 2 or Army of Darkness. Those two are unbeatable for me.

If I'm wrong, just ignore me ๐ But there is this band called Ice Nine Kills and the last 2 albums they've put out are horror movie themed. There's a song on the most recent one called Ex-Mortis based on Evil Dead that I think you'd be in to. I'm always down to put more people on to them as I'm a huge fan. Like I said, random, but thought I'd put that out there ๐
