X2: X-Men United | Full Length Reaction!

Hey guys!! So heres the second X-Men movie, X2!!! I really liked the ongoing story and the way they're framing the Mutants vs. Humans universe thus far and find it to be done very tastefully and nicely. They introduce new characters so subtly and I imagine they're going to continue to do so and I really enjoy it so far - and you KNOW I'm here for all that Wolverine lore (hehe)

I hope you guys enjoy and continue joining me on my X-men journey, have a great day everyone!!:)

I just got around to watching this, and I only have one thing to say: #RonnySucks

Count Duckula

Still one of the best X-Men movies. I still want Cyclops' Mazda RX-8. The girl in the bar that drugged Laurio was Rebecca Romijn the actor who played Mystique.

David Kent

Still one of my all time favorite, most nostalgic films. It also has one of the most meaningful scenes in any CBM, the "coming out" scene.

Inhuman Paradox

yeah broooo it was awesome then xD I pondered over why she would leave the plane to do it too, but I just concluded that she probably is afraid that her power would rip the plane apart if she was inside and endanger everyone

I assumed Artie was based on the character that appeared in early issues of X-Factor. He was mute but could communicate using holograms of his thoughts. Maybe he's not based on that character, but it seems like a very specific name to use.

A little info on the mutants not explained or their "Mutant" name not given in this film. Metal muscle boy - Colossus - metal skin; Jason Stryker - Mastermind - powerful psychic illusionist; Girl that walks through walls - Kitty Pride aka Shadow Cat - phase through matter; Stryker's Bodyguard - Lady Deathstrike - basically Wolverine 2.0; Screaming Girl - Siryn - sonic scream. These last 2 were just mutants created for this film only; the boy with the TV is just known as Jones, he is a techno-path, a psychic with electronics and electronic signals; boy with the blue forked tongue is just known as Artie and all we know is that he has a blue forked tongue, lol. Rogue didn't reverse time, lol, she absorbed Pyro's power to manipulate fire in order to put the fires out.

At the time, Marvel was about to go bankrupt and they were desperately trying to get whatever money they could. Additionally, there had been no successful "superhero" movies since Reeve's Superman (not counting Blade), so nobody expected much to come of them. Sony and Fox's purchase were essentially "Yeah, sure... maybe we can do something with it. Maybe."

Yes, Colossus does look like he's in his 20's. He's actually supposed to be one of the main X-men in the comics, but in the movies, they just pick and choose what bits they want to keep and change everything else. Makes for enjoyable movies, but they are all over the place when it comes to being tied to the comics. Timelines are meaningless. Characters have the wrong personalities and histories. The best way I can describe it is that the movies are only VERY LOOSELY based on the comics. I like them, but sometimes I wish they would have been a bit more faithful to the comics. Unlike the MCU, these movies had very little patience for world and character building. They go off the rails every few years and pretty much reboot everything, ignoring things that happened in previous movies. But it's still fun, so...

Its amazing that Marvel sold the film rights to Spider-Man for just a reported 7 million dollars, and X-Men for just 2.5 million Also, when people talk about Sony owning Spider-Man and Fox owning X-Men they are referring to the film and TV rights which they have licensed. Marvel owns the characters and there are crossovers in the comics and video games

I led you astray last time. I commented before saying there was an end credit scene for this movie and I was mistaken. But 100% there is one after X-Men: the last stand. It’s an interesting after credit scene that might draw quite a reaction out of you. Thanks for this reaction. It was a great video.

X-Men was owned by a different studio (Fox) until 2018. Marvel Studios wasn't allowed to use or mention mutants before then. But they're going to be incorporated into the MCU very soon. Honestly it's both a good and bad thing - Fox sucked at handling the franchise but Marvel imposes their style of moviemaking on everything

RD

To answer your question about why X-Men have never been seen in the MCU, it is because up until a few years ago X-Men and Fantastic Four were owned by Fox, but then Disney bought Fox. We've only just seen a Mutant in the MCU for the first time in a recent movie.
