I'm going to try so hard not to post any spoilers in description (even if everyones already seen it and knows what happens lol) but the ending... shocked me to say the least. I had some sort of idea what was happening but it was still heartbreaking to witness when you grew to love every single character. The ending will speak for itself 😭😭😭
Its been a rough movie, but I thank every single one of you who have joined me on this journey so far. I hope you can enjoy this with me :)

2022-06-13 02:10:08 +0000 UTCThe thing is, population can work like this xD YES its not like it grows and grows and them bam, and it will correct itself like u said and go down like earth will end with around 9 billion people after shortly go up to up to 11 billion, but i think what thanos means is the "next step". When the ressources are so much exploited and the civilisation just collapses in itself. And for this on earth there are also studies based on the civilisations of rome and ancient greek and they currently say our civilisation stats to collaps around 2040 so we shoudl all enjoy the rest i guess xD BTW completly unrelated to this movie my teacher once asked what we could do against the coming starving after a drought in africa where millions will die, and i suggested the thanos solution xD kill like 30% now or have 50% starve later ... i mean i was a authistic child so its not fair i got send to the directorium so when i many decades later saw this movie i had to think back and was like "oh thanos has exactly my idea" xD

2022-06-03 12:39:50 +0000 UTCI dont think I will ever experience anything like watching this at the midnight screening, the energy going in was phenomenal, but same as any other midnight release, sure a lot more of it but the same, but after, the second the movie was over, the cinema was dead silent, we were all in collective disbelief, no a single word was said except for the occasional "noo" or "what the fuck", the end credits scene played, more shock. and then the lights came on, staff came in, and everyone was still in disbelief, not a single person got up until the staff asked us to, we were all in shock. no one said anything as we walked out, we saw the queues for the next showing, who were excited and hyped, some noticed and looked confused, i hope they assumed it was another movie and it didn't ruin it for them, because that experience, the collective shock and disbelief, it was an experience i don't believe i will ever come close to emulating again. something truly unique

2022-05-22 06:46:12 +0000 UTCSimply put. Thanos is the Hero in this film. So much so its said at the end "Thanos will return" as if its something to be happy about. Also about the overpopulation issue. Keep in mind the Marvel Universe is a separate universe from our own. It has its own physics even. So technically in this universe. Overpopulation CAN be an issue and Thanos felt the need to correct it. To save it from starving himself. When you look at things from his perspective. Thanos is a hero. But also vee, you have to have suspension of disbelief in the MCU or everything will just not be fun to watch. I love the explanation you did but this isnt our universe, things are different here, its a superhero film series on top of that where gods can summon lighting and kids can shoot webs. What thanos did and why isnt out the realm of possibilities and understanding.

The carrying capacity of the Earth is objectively under 600 million, and while there's no way to solve overpopulation without discussing eugenics which is a vile practice, the burning of fossil fuel & overuse of natural resources is going to cause a lot of problems. In fact, many scientists believe we're currently in the middle of another mass extinction. The interruption of the Coriolis effect is causing our primary food-producing countries to cool which will cause shortages, which are already happening. It's why inflation is at an all-time high. Thanos definitely has a point, but like you said his morals and methods are skewed and he's taking his plan to the extreme. I can sympathize with him, and they WANT you to empathize with and understand him as a villain. He's very compelling and I think he's well written. I also wanted to note some things about the film that I loved. There was a lot of improv in the script, including the "why is gamora" line and the "I'm back up." "You're a stowaway, the adults are talking" exchange. Possibly my favorite use of improv was Peter's death scene. Tom Holland said he used a technique he learned to make himself cry. He said that he would repeat a phrase over and over, and so for this scene he chose "I don't want to go." It was really effective and the haunting shot of Tony crying with his hands covered in Peter's ashes is still with me all these years later after seeing the film in theatres. It was really impactful and intense. I didn't really like Thor's character progression in this film, mostly because it backtracked from Thor Ragnarok making him learn to live without his hammer and his eye only for them to give him an eye and an axe in the following film. Other than Thor though, this is one of my favorite movies even if it makes me cry every time I watched it. I watched you cry over Vision and was laughing to myself thinking "oh she's IN for it" but even I cried with you when it came to Peter. I can't wait to see how you feel about Avenger's Endgame. It was truly one of the best and worst films at the same time and I look forward to hearing your thoughts!

2022-05-13 19:52:05 +0000 UTCI don't even know what they were going for with the Hulk. After Avengers 1 he's kinda just been... there. And even then, the best things about Hulk in Avengers 1 were leftover character beats from The Incredible Hulk. Honestly, I miss that Hulk. I miss the ideas Ed Norton brought to the character, not really in terms of his performance, but in terms of his writing. Ed Norton wrote the final script for that film and had great ideas for the Hulk, he's a huge comic fan of the character as well as a huge fan of the old 70s show. Ed Norton wanted the MCU Hulk to effectively be a modernization of the old show, a great direction for the character honestly. Once Norton left the creative process, it was a downhill trend. Losing Ed Norton the writer was honestly a bigger loss than losing Ed Norton the actor, as Ruffalo is a better choice (Hell, he was the first choice. Norton only got picked over Ruffalo because his script talents were needed). But because Ike Perlmutter (The guy responsible for nearly every single problem in every Phase 1 and 2 MCU film) had The Incredible Hulk botched in editing (#ReleaseTheLeterrierCut), and Norton had the balls to call them out for that, he got axed from both the role and writers' room. And as if that wasn't bad enough they had PR spread BS about Norton being some sort of Nazi on the film trying to take control away from the filmmakers (Even though director Louis Leterrier himself was ON NORTON'S SIDE). I love the MCU, I really do. But The Hulk has consistently been the biggest disappointment of the franchise for me. Well, that and the D+ shows IMO not matching up to a lot of the old MCU shows that Marvel Television made (Yes they are MCU, no that's not a spoiler for recent stuff, they were always MCU canon people just for whatever reason decided they no longer believed they were out of freaking nowhere. It never used to be controversial to say Agents of SHIELD was a canon MCU show, so it shouldn't be now since no official statement has ever contradicted that). But that's a whole separate issue for another time.

The music and soundtrack in this is amazing how it highlights all the special moments, marvel is really great at that. I am very excited for the next movies in the mcu.

No music or anything…just our heroes becoming dust and all you could hear was crying in the audience. There was a 10 year old boy sitting next to me who was bawling his eyes out into his mother’s shoulder during that scene. It was like the most gut wrenching scene I ever experienced in a sold out theatre like that.

Captain Marvel explains the end credit scene. It received very mixed reviews do to the actress pissing a lot of marvel fans off, but I actually think it's the best first solo film in the MCU. Endgame is going to be awesome. Can't wait to see your reaction. The Infinity War/Endgame pairing is one of the greatest achievements in cinematic history.

2022-05-11 03:49:51 +0000 UTCThe Avengers need something to avenge, right? ;) Thanos is a titan, as in, he is from Titan. However, the comics and the films differ in who Thanos is. In the comics, he was a mutation of the titan race, because the people of titan are beautiful and Thanos was abnormally large and also purple, both of which the titans are not. In the films, well it is a spoiler to explain what race Thanos is. It will come out in another movie's end credits so I'll leave it at that. In the comics, yes, Thanos was in love with the entity that embodied Death. Death had a problem she would continue to mention, that there was too much life in the universe and the scales of life and death were off balance. She basically kept rejecting Thanos because she was too busy doing her job. So Thanos came up with the plan of using the stones to balance the universe so they could finally be together. That is comic lore. They changed his motivation for the movies but kept the result. Thanos also ignored the possibility of renewable resources. Literally, Tony created clean renewable energy in the very first Ironman movie, lol. Honestly there is more to unravel about Thanos, so good points but his story isn't over.

And also the stats may show that society recovered for us, but death is still inevitable. One day, our planet will die out along with all humans. Whether it be we exhaust our resources, we kill each other off, or until the sun explodes, incinerating everything. That's not avoidable. But our stats can't really apply to every planet. Here, we haven't found planets with whole civilizations. In the MCU, they're everywhere. I'm sure several of which don't operate like Earth does. So I'm sure in just travels, he's seen enough struggle and suffering to justify to himself that this cleansing is neccesary for the remaining half. If they want to thrive, they will pool their resources and be better. But at the end of the day, it doesn't matter, because his plan isn't really what's flawed. Thanos is. Thats why he is so compelling.

Yes Thanos is not fully in the right and he doesn't see why killing so many people, even if it's painless like he did with dusting them, is wrong. He thinks it's the price worth paying. And I think he does care about the universe, but its clouded by his trauma. He said his home planet died due to overpopulation. And he said killing half of them would let the rest thrive. But no one listened, and all his people perished. So that pain makes him think if they did things his way, they would have lived. And the problem is that apparently Gamoras home world survived after he tried his idea. That validates his plan and makes him think, "if it works here, it could work everywhere." Thus starts his mission. I know he is obsessed and misguided, but he is such admirable character in this movie. With the way he sees himself and what he is willing to do. He isn't doing this for power, and he isn't trying to make himself happy. Proof of this is right at the end, he accomplished his mission, but at the cost of everything he cares about. He has little to live for, which is why he just sits and watches the sun rise. But he is happy because he believes he saved the universe. This quality of self sacrifice, isn't in a lot of these selfish villains we see in older movies who just want power. This is the same quality one of my favorite heroes, Captain America has. Completing the mission at their own sake, even if they suffer while doing it. Few other villains have that, which is why I have a weird feeling of supporting Thanos. Not because I want people to die, but because he is willing to give all he has, even his own life, for the sake of what he believes in. That's why he's so complex, he has a lot of villain qualities, but so many heroic parts to him as well. He didn't do it for a reward, he did it because he believed in it, however deluded he is. He's the only villain I've almost wanted to win more than the heroes. The only other villain I've felt this much sympathy or support for was Darth Vader.

His Iron Man suit, and Captain's cellnumber on a fully charged phone. All this talk about the falling out and not on speaking terms, and Tony has the phone in his pocket at all times, almost as insurance. He literally has Captain American on speed dial. That's still a deep amount of love and respect.

Here, Thanos is just the ultimate environmentalist. As stated, he just wants to protect the universe from consuming itself by overpopulation.
