This is what I gave to Pixie, she has been really busy and won't have anything for me to listen to until May 5th. At that time I will refine the animation around the sound that she records. I told her to make whatever she wants so we will see what comes back. Because the Dva animation is in a holding pattern I don't know when I will be finished with it. This is the hidden cost of quality around character focused animation. The 30 day cycle is not really made for it.

In the mean time I have started work on the Sombra model and I'm making great time on it. I am still looking for a Sombra Voice artist and the model itself needs a lot more love so there is much to do in the coming weeks.

I will not be posting the detail poll winners on Patreon anymore either, I was contacted by Patreon for breaching  the community guidelines byt posting those gifs here. So that will not be here on Patreon going forward. I believe I can share that on Discord so long as it is not a paid reward and inside a free channel. I may decide to publish that on Twitter too, I am not really sure.

WIP coming soon

All of my machines are rendering the final changes to January extended content. I really hope everyone likes what comes out!

Once that finishes I can share a rough preview of the Dva animation but for the time being my 3D software is bricked. Please remember: the Dva animation will not release in time for May 1st and nobody will be charged.

I'm really excited to start a fresh skin on Sombra too! Until that skin is atleast built I won't commit to a decicision on what to do for June.

Tie Breaker

Between Mercy and Sombra I have chosen to make Sombra for our May content. This is the first tie breaker in the polls but Sombra has come close and lost too many times. So I have sided with her and I think the variation in character will be healthy. 

Skin Design

As most patrons already know I tweak the models or build my own to avoid legal suit. I like to keep most things as close to the game as possible but Overwatch is aging and we've all been looking at Sombra's dress for a few years now. It does not do her body justice. So I'm going to make a model that is more in line with fan art and unofficial lore. There is an art piece by Dandon Fuga and another by Diana (@dikatsu on twitter) that I am using as some heavy inspiration. I will begin doing this after the animation for April has been sent to render.

Poll Results

about 47% (less than half) of current patrons that voted have a VR headset. I thought that was interesting but I am sure more are waiting for the content before they pledge.

The single biggest thing respondents seem to agree on is that there should be more character and lip syncing in animations. I agree myself, but this takes time. So I have to chose carefully when I should and should not do this. I am trying, I understand this unquenchable thirst for characters can be tough. This brings me to the next topic...

Pause on Billing

Nobody will be charged for the month of May. New patrons will have the upfront cost, as always. I am going to pause billing for a month to finish some things up and maintain quality. I mentioned how tricky lip syncing can be and that I want the Dva animation to finish strong. I am budgeting the time to do that. Billing will resume on June 1st. 

June Content

There will not be a voting poll on June 1st when billing resumes. I will announce what Character I am covering and what they do at that time. I am currently leaning toward the Avatar universe, but it will not be Overwatch.

Rule Update

Rules have been simplified and some things that we have been sharing in the update posts are now implemented. I have also added another critical rule that I think is important to Quality of life for myself and for Patrons. You can review them here.

I do not want to add anymore rules that prop up the underdog. I am not a fan of equal outcome, I like equal opportunity and if something is not popular then at some point you have to aknowledge that reality and give people what they want. I also know that if I only make 1 kind of art, I'm likely to attract 1 kind of fan. Instituing a month of artist's choice seems comperable to ordering the chef's special at a resturaunt, hopefully everyone trusts  that enough. 

Annual Calendar

Now I offer a calendar to everyone, it coincides with a rule change and might affect voting. please review this here. The months in white are for Patrons to decide, the months in pink are for me to decide.

By taking a month here and there I can promote variety, learn something new, capitalize on a trend, or do something easy so I have time for a break. It's been 16 straight months of production for me without a break. This Patreon is important but time off is important too.
