Tax changes = Tier changes

Some of you may not know this but Patreon wants to charge you sales tax starting on July 1st.

Patronage should be tax free, let's get real here, it's a charitable gift.  Many others feel the same. This is new in the U.S. and pretty disturbing since people leave more money for a tip on a meal and that's usually tax free.

For those who pay attention you are aware that we are not slaves to our own laws but rather to powerful individuals' interpretation of the law. If services like Patreon aren't going to be exempt or acknowledged, and held apart from Amazon and larger marketplaces (the reason those laws exist) then I'm not going to acknowledge the shitty laws those cunts wrote either.

SO- it's time to get technical about what this patreon offers you so that our hard earned money goes where we actually want it to go.

I will soon update tier keywords, giving each tier "Exclusive Community Access" or "Early Access" to coresponding rewards.

What does this mean for Patrons?

At the end of the day- it's my job to file my taxes. It pissed me off that patrons are being targeted for this. Helping people masturbate for science is a community service- so fuck these robots.

Odds are this will affect more services going forward so the best advice I can give you is to use a VPN and a fake paypal account with a pre-paid Visa. you have to pay to get a plastic card (still less then 4%) and can dodge the taxes on it if you claim a billing address out of a state with no sales tax. The tax burden is then on the recipient to report, not the buyer. This is what I do to conceal my identity when I work with others in the community, thought I would share.
