Madonna & Her Dancers REACTION

Madonna & Her Dancers REACTION

Comments

As a former pro dancer, it's nice to always see her put so much in her performances to represent dance. She is also known to always have the greatest dancers on the touring scene and she is also famously detailed about everything.

Madonna is probably the best dancer in pop music. The only one that is trained the way she is for sure having begun dance at age 10, going all in at the age of 14, getting a Scholarship to the University of Michigan, Ann-Arbor for dance, interning for The Alvin Aliey Dance Troupe her freshman year of college. Alvin Aliey is traditionally an all black dance troupe and she was the first white dancer. She left Michigan to join and study under Martha Graham and Pearl Lang in NYC both of whom said she was a standout dancer but being 5'3" she was too short to become a the lead in a professional company so she started music. Island and Atlantic Records passed on her because they didn't think mainstream America wanted a white disco singer in a post disco sucks era. She was the first white recording act to use background dancers it at the time was only done by black acts. Nile Rodgers said that was why he wanted to work with her. She has sought out the unique not always the best trained dancer because she remembers being overlooked for not being the traditional dancer. Madonna is known for being the first one in at rehearsals and recording sessions and the last one to leave. She rehearsals non stop and also watches the rehearsals from every possible seat to ensure people see what she wants. She also is very professional and doesnt ask people to do more than she would do. Jamie King who danced on Michael Jackson's Dangerous Tour when he was 18 and then was Prince's cheorgrapher and creative director 93-96 at ages 18-21 has been her head cheorgrapher and autistic director since 97. Before that Vincent Patterson and her brother had the role. She notices everything and gives all kinds of notes.

That was fun to watch. A well-made video. Seems like he stitched together all of the dancer moments from BTS of three of Madonna‘s tours. I’m pretty sure you’re going to be posting reactions to full tours, at least I hope so. Each tour, beginning with Blond Ambition, has a BTS video of sorts. Truth or Dare being the most well known. I hope you do reactions to all of the behind the scenes videos, and also include at least one interview with Madonna for each era. I think you would enjoy.

There's also a good behind the scenes bit for the MDNA tour that shows a more in depth process for how she chooses both dancers and musicians. It's worth watching, but there are a lot of subtitles because she hired people from all over the world.
