General update: Personal Bad News but nothing changing on the Patreon

Hey party people, I originally scheduled in today to be a celebration with a surprise. I was going to completely premier my new story and the amount of chapters per month overall were supposed to increase with the addition (stay the same for my other stories).

Unfortunately life has gotten in the way, in a manner that requires me too share it since I might actually need your help in a few weeks.

It's a bit of a long story so I don't even know where to start but basically I had a cancer scare a month and a half ago and had to jump on a plane and start going to hospitals to do the check-ups etc. Anyway, it's a benign tumor of about 2cm in my torso and not touching any organs so that's good. Doctors told me that I should observe and unless it increases in size I might not even have to remove it.

I spent half-days sleeping on airport benches, fighting people for spots on the bus at peak hours and waiting in hospital queues for 6 hours at a time.

Suffice to say that the only reason I actually uploaded any chapters last month and a half was because I had a backlog for cases like this.

I do not have a backlog anymore.

I'm not really a complainer, I like to think at least, but my finances are shot, my mental health has lost about a year of progress so I'm back to therapy and I've gained some of the weight I managed to lose last year.

Anyway, this isn't even the real issue at the moment.

I would be fine with needing one very very safe surgery potentially sometime in the relatively far-off future, if I could actually access my income.

The issue has been that I started the migration process on my Patreon from Switzerland to Kosovo two months.

It took a month for my payment-processor (Payoneer (Paypal basically)) to change my residence, which is all good.

The issue came about when I tried to select Kosovo as a payout country on Patreon, that's when I got the unfortunate news that it is currently glitched on their end. I'll attach the image in case any of you guys happens to have an easy solution but I'm not holding my breath.

Anyway, I did all the troubleshooting I can do, trying different browsers, devices, country IP addresses, deleting cookies etc.

But no, it just doesn't work.

I have a 30 e-mail chain assuring me that they're working on it and that it's in the engineering queue. It's now been in that queue for 30 days, which, I know, its a bug, might not be easy to fix, but still, doesn't help my situation.

I don't really want to incite a political discussion about why of all countries, only Kosovo currently doesn't work. I really don't. So please don't start.

Anyway, as some of you probably are probably realise right now I haven't had access to my income in 2 months, had a relatively expensive medical emergency and might need to pay for a surgery soon.

Well, surgery or not, I'm actually going to be broke by the end of November if nothing changes.

Having a successful Patreon has been an immense privilege that I'm leveraging to not get a normal job and co-founding a UX-Design Agency but since I'm co-founding it just means its a lot of work but that the income will maybe come later.

I think I'm reaching rambling territory now so I'll get to the point.

If this thing isn't fixed by end of november I am fucked beyond what most of you can probably understand, and those of you who have had those moments where you sleep in car, probably know all too well.

I'm just explaining this now so you guys are ready, but I might need those of you with more twitter followers to write Patreon Support at the end of November to get them to accelerate their fix. They have a lot of bugs, and obviously can't care that I'm personally facing bankruptcy, but I kinda need them too.

I tried it myself but I never cultivated a following so they didn't care, funnily enough when an Indian creator with 10k followers did it they fixed his issue same day.

Please don't write them now, but just know I might beg you to help me in a few weeks.

PS: I am alive, I am well, there are people in way worse situations than me, don't pity me. I have had a good, privileged life in central Europe. I have started writing again, I have people around me who can support me emotionally. I am stressed, but happy, grateful, hopeful.
