General updated (Mood = bad)
Added 2024-11-12 09:11:42 +0000 UTCHeyo, how you doing.
I don't know if I should apologise for this, but I have to get this off my chest.
I don't know if anyone remembers but around a year ago I said I'd switch to voicetyping and then editing later because I had damaged by forearms with the RSI of typing so much. Yadda yadda I had some really shitty phsyiotherapist in Switzerland who didn't do shit, but recently I got the problem mostly fixed.
Today, I got an edit suggestion on RoyalRoad, and I realised, that in comparison to how I used to write with my hands. The quality of my writing rn... Is dogshit.
There's so many errors I want to sink into the ground.
The issue with editing the garbage that voice text programms produce is that mistakes slip by if your brain knows whats coming up and fills out the blanks.
I've probably lost a bunch of Patrons because of this, and didn't gain a bunch that I could have.
I will now start writing normally again, and just reduce my general computer usage, try to change my lifestyle to something where the cramping will be less frequent. I also have a better physiotherapist now so I'll just go more regularly if it gets bad again.
Anyway, you might not notice a difference immediately, because some of the content is pre-written. 1 month for Rattata and Videogame cultivator. 3 months Harry Evans.
But, After this the quality should improve again. So, if you're frustrated and noticed the quality issues, sorry, and it will improve in a month.
Have a great start of the week.

I've encountered this with my own writing, when I did voice writing. Causing me to switch back to the computer, as well. Hope you find a solution that doesn't kill your body!!

2024-11-15 07:19:51 +0000 UTCVery happy about the big chapters coming up then. I remember you telling me this was the case (only shortening the VGC chapters).

2024-11-13 14:05:18 +0000 UTCThe length is a bit random sometiems, but there are some behemoth chapters coming up. The only thing I made consistently shorter was Video Game Cultivator and that was to increase the update speed.

2024-11-13 08:40:38 +0000 UTCI mean I haven't noticed issues and I generally still love your writing. Maybe it feels like the chapters are shorter than they used to be and don't cover that much? Idk. Reminder to check out the Keyboardio 100. Very good ergo keyboard. Though it'd take some time to get used to. You're able to mount them as well and have even completely sideways, if you wanted. It's really very cool. Even if you didn't do that, should help out a ton vs the hand issues. Make sure to get something though asap. Normal keyboards can easily be ruinous. Even if it's just something to make a normal keyboard nicer, or a cheap keyboard that's split (though the latter fixes more your shoulders than your hand issues).

2024-11-13 03:10:12 +0000 UTCAs per the latest research, standing desks aren't healthier than sitting because they put stress on the knees and jam blood flow. Exercise is still the best way to counteract the disadvantages of sitting too long.

2024-11-12 16:04:08 +0000 UTCI feel bad for your troubles, such is life :( Well if no monitor, you'll need to raise your laptop screen to eye level. Get a riser or just use a cardboard box of proper size. Good luck

2024-11-12 13:28:00 +0000 UTCI was planning on doing the setup thing, but then I basically lost my relationship, my apartment and had to move out of the country. Everything has been a bit too chaotic to manage. I can buy a keyboard and a mouse pretty easily though. Probably not a monitor though, dont have space. Issue is also I now live somewhere where its not that easy to order stuff online. Imma do a standing task ergonomic keyboard situation sometime next year. Until then Imma just have to tough it out tbh.

2024-11-12 13:07:19 +0000 UTCWhat keyboard do you use? I work 15 hours a day on a computer. I have tried a lot of things to minimize fatigue and maximize my comfort. So I guess I'm an expert at this, with my setup evolving over 11 years. - Never work directly on a laptop. Always attach it to a monitor, keyboard and mouse. - I use a split keyboard that ensures that my shoulders are always open and my elbows relaxed. I'd go for a kinesis. - Keyboard has good mechanical keys that absorb impact. - Stretch your hands/palms/fingers. You have a physio so all good. Generally stretching the joint near the pain gradually fixes it. - glare reducing glasses. If you have good eyes and no glasses, get yourself a 0 power glare reducing glasses. Glasses also help dry eyes as you blink less when on a screen. - Every hour, stretch your neck, look at 10m 30m, and INF ( far away) distances. Slowly rotate your eyeballs in a circle. These are the things that got me the most returns.

2024-11-12 11:47:50 +0000 UTCIn some ways you can interact with an LLM like chatgpt like you would for anyone else. It has its flaws but for either starting or cleaning up a project, it's fairly effective in my opinion.

2024-11-12 10:55:47 +0000 UTCFor something like chatgpt, it can handle more than grammar. As long as you're dealing with stuff stored in its memory, then you can get awesome output. I suggest trying out chatgpt with a test chapter. I prompted chatgpt for a prompt to use to help with cleaning up a chapter and here's what it said: GPT: If you'd like me to analyze and clean up a chapter of your story, you could phrase the prompt something like this: "Here's a chapter of my story. Could you help me analyze it for flow, clarity, and grammar? Please point out any awkward sentences, suggest improvements, and ensure the dialogue feels natural." Or, if you have a more specific focus: "Please review this chapter, focusing on character development and pacing. Let me know if any parts feel rushed or underdeveloped, and suggest how I could expand or improve them." Feel free to adjust the focus depending on what areas you'd like feedback on, such as style, tone, or any particular element you're working on.

2024-11-12 10:54:12 +0000 UTCGlad you like it. I mean if I risk losing my arms I'll obviously go back, but it seems like I'll just have to get a physiotherapy massage twice a month, which is acceptable,

2024-11-12 10:30:22 +0000 UTCIssue isn't grammar, but that voicetyping inserts a word that is wrong, but not incorrect, then I gloss over it because monkeybrain inserts meaning over reality

2024-11-12 10:29:39 +0000 UTCI agree. One thing is you can have AI to doublecheck your wording if you'd like? Feels like it'd be especially good at that. Let me know if you'd like any direction on methodology.

2024-11-12 09:18:46 +0000 UTCNot sure about others but I have not noticed anything horribly bad. At worst the occasional typo that isnt that bad really. Still enjoying your stories and dont have major complaints.
