Taxes are collected by the Church which funds their 'church activities' while the rest of the devotees (common people) or repenters dont need anything more! Why infact they should be thanking Ramuh for giving them a role in his lawful society! Havent they heard about how lawless it is out there in the other nations? All that disorder and sins!

2021-08-19 14:20:21 +0000 UTCHopefully not as the protectorate basically have two to three times the land resources of every one else. So effectively no one would allow them to invade another country. Especially the cartel as they would be an easy target if the iron kingdom fell.
