Watching the Dawn of the Dead reaction just reminded me what a great job Daniel does of being engaged in the reaction without giving anything away despite having seen the film. Kudos sir.

I was just in town shooting SUPERMAN LEGACY. I wish he would stay away from superhero movies, but now that's his whole life at the moment. I liked it better when he was doing his own thing.

So excited for the Omen watch! And Dawn of the Dead too - it's a very good remake, although you should check out the original classic Romero films that started it all!

Hey guys, I recommend a great show I've just binged the first season of, it's 'Banshee'. It stars Anthony Starr who plays Homelander in 'The Boys'.
It has a Reacheresque vibe to it, but different.

I’m really looking forward to your reaction to The Omen. That’s been a quirky favorite of mine since watching it in the theater. It’s like a blending of old Hollywood and new, in a genre that old seldom embraced — even more surprising given the subject matter.

Daniel finally gave into The Omen after 3 years of saying 'NEVAAAHHH'. Couple of good movies for October right there. Hope you get to watch the original Night of the Living Dead (there's a decent remake of that too from 1990) and Dawn of the Dead, those two live rent free in my head. The other 4 movies in the series diminish with each one but I still like them, Romero is the Godfather of zombie movies.

Night of the Living Dead is a must if they haven't seen it. It's one of the crown jewels of the American horror film along with Dawn and Day.

Night of the Living Dead (1968) was always on the polls about 3 and a half years ago on this channel ,it always did well enough ,getting votes ranging from about 80 to 120 ,but kept coming in about 3rd and 4th place on the poll
So the problem is ,if we are waiting on the Night of the Living Dead reaction before getting to the next two movies ,then we might never get started ,but im sure their time will come

The perfect plan for channel TBR Schmitt
October 2024 Night of the Living Dead (1968)✅
November 2024 Dawn of the Dead (1978)✅
December 2024 Day of the Dead (1985)✅

For years, the problem would have been that the original Dawn of the Dead was not in print on physical media or available to stream in the US, although I guess it's recently gone up on Amazon Prime. Also, if they did the original Dawn I would hope they'd do the original Night of the Living Dead first and Day of the Dead afterward.

Another channel I watch has been doing the Ghostbusters movies and so I hope that even with the mixed reception it received, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is on your list for this Halloween. (Also, I reiterate my support for you to give the extended cut of the 2016 reboot a shot for a reaction and just see what you think, for better or worse.)

My buddy wrote that DAWN remake. It's funny because that same month within a week a part this and SCOOBY-DOO: MONSTERS UNLEASHED, which he also wrote, premiered at #1. At the time he was the only screenwriter to have two #1 hits a week a part.

Fun fact on Dawn: Heather Langenkamp (Nancy from A Nightmare on Elm Street, 1984) was part of the production crew who handled the prosthetic make-up for the movie.

To be fair, the 2004 Dawn is a standalone movie, it doesn't follow a previous movie.

How absolutely dare you ignore the original ''Dawn of the Dead (1978)''
Which btw is rated higher and more popular anywhere and everywhere you look online.
I will be putting pen to paper tomorrow and writing a very strongly worded letter to the both of you on this matter,I will also apologize in advance now for the language that will appear in that letter.
Having said all that ,I shall be watching both reactions on this schedule and am very much looking forward to them

The Omen is a great movie. In fact, I love the original trilogy. The main reason for this is because of Jerry Goldsmith's score for all three.

‘Dawn of The Dead’ is a sequel btw. Maybe you’ve already seen ‘Night of The Living Dead’. Hope it’s not too late to change, in case you haven’t.
Also agree that the original ‘Dawn’ is better. But the remake from 2004 is one of the few horror remakes that is actually decent.

Romero's original is a masterpiece but, unfortunately, it's not that easy to see right now in the U.S. thanks to its producer demanding ridiculous amounts for DVD and streaming rights. I think you might be able to rent it from Amazon but not in Romero's preferred version.

Wow! Thank you! I don’t remember the last time a request of mine was granted so quickly😂
I don’t wanna be greedy, but if you end up liking ‘The Omen, I really hope you do the prequel, ‘The First Omen’ (2024). There are also sequels, but they’re honestly not that good.
