I finally got around to watching your fine reaction to my selection, and would again like to say thanks. Some have already mentioned the brief appearance by Robert Duvall. Another brief appearance is the Frostee Cream employee, played by director Jim Jarmusch. Though it was a “small” movie, Billy Bob did win an Oscar for the screenplay, and he was nominated for Best Actor. The rights issues that have frustratingly thrown the movie into a viewing “dead zone” is such a travesty. I think it would have a whole new life if finally making its way to streaming. The starting point for the problems was its Disney ownership, and Disney is one of the worst for home media. They have fought tooth and nail for “control” during every phase and format of home media. And having been a small scale production by MIRIMAX only made problems worse. Maybe someday soon it will shine brightly again, with a fine new mastering. I doubt that it’s been touched since the early DVD era.

2024-03-26 03:51:55 +0000 UTCAs far as Billy Bob goes, the series Goliath, especially the first season is very good. I though the 4th season was kind of odd but still enjoyable. One of my favorite of his roles was in A Simple Plan. Also has Bill Paxton and Bridget Fonda.

As stated previously, I’m sorry for not doing an initial search that would have revealed that it’s not widely available, especially via streaming. And I’ll certainly check before future entries. Thank you for going the extra mile in showing this selection. Hopefully plenty of members will be able to eventually watch the full reaction. This is a rather special film, for Billy Bob, all those involved in its production, and the millions who fell in love with the end result.

We were fortunate enough to be assisted with getting a copy we could film a reaction with. As stated above, some other patrons may already have copies, it may be able to stream in their location, or it may be added to streaming at a later date which will make this selection more accessible. Regardless, our condensed/edited reaction will be available on YouTube for all to see. This is not the first difficult movie to access that we have reacted to. We previously needed assistance watching Oldboy but similar to this, it was a winning selection. If we are able to honor a winning selection then that is simply what we will do.

2024-03-25 05:44:38 +0000 UTCNever thought you'd do a Dwight Yoakam double feature. In life he's more known as a country singer/songwriter who occasionally acts. I doubt you guys have the time, but for anyone else, I highly recommend Goliath Season 1 on Amazon Prime. I personally think it's Billy Bob Thornton's best role, most winning role, and that first season is incredibly satisfying. 8 episodes. He's a lawyer who takes on a wrongful death lawsuit against a large weapons manufacturer. Also, Dwight Yoakam is in it.
