Another movie to check out if you've watched The Social Network is Steve Jobs, with Michael Fassbinder and Kate Winslet, which was directed by Danny Boyle. It was also written by Aaron Sorkin, and I think it's a great companion to The Social Network.
That said, you guys have bigger Danny Boyle films to get to first, like the Trainspotting movies and Sunshine. I would also love to see you react to his A Life Less Ordinary (1997), but I'm not holding my breath...

The Game and Dead Calm are both great.

Zodiac may not be able to make the channel, but a very similar, absolutely brilliant movie that you should definitely consider instead is called Memories of Murder (2003), by Parasite director Bong Joon Ho. It actually filmed in South Korea at the same time as Oldboy, and there is a widely-circulated behind-the-scenes photo of the leads of both movies, Song Kang Ho and Min Sik Choi on the set of Oldboy hanging out between takes. Both films were landmarks in the "new wave" of contemporary South Korean filmmakers, and like Zodiac, Memories of Murder is a criminal investigation movie that is inspired by a true story. Highly, highly recommend it, I think it would absolutely become one of your new favorite crime films and I would love to see your reaction to it.

Second recommendations for "The Game".
I think Nicole Kidman would have done fine in this role. She was in another thriller called "Dead Calm" (1989) with Sam Neil and Billy Zane - similar role (not plot wise but dealing with tension filled situation). Recommend that too
Even though he has a real small role in it (cameo really), Dwight Yoakam was also in "Red Rock West" (1993) a good thriller/ ne-noir worth watching.

To be fair, most people don't know what MREs are, let alone what is usually in them. Personally, I always loved the pound cakes they have sometimes. I don't know how pound cakes usually taste because the only ones I have had were in MREs but the ones I had I loved. lol

First time seeing this one. I wouldn't put it in my Fincher top 3 or anything, but it was still entertaining. Also, I used to have a diabetic dog named Mojo. He lived for quite a good long time. Sweetest dog π
Also, I'm shocked you haven't done Zodiac yet. It's arguably Fincher's best film. I'm sure it's on your list if you haven't seen it already, but I know you two will love it.

I immediately thought about this too. Like, there has to be SOMETHING in there that would raise her blood sugar. Doesn't really hurt the story much, but growing up with a dad in the army who'd bring some home sometimes I knew there had to be something in there that would help.

Something I noticed was that when they were starting to panic about her blood sugar dropping and they were looking for something sweet like a candy bar or something else, all those MRE's they had ripped open would have high-sugar amounts food in them. Every MRE, even during that time, have sugary treats in them. They almost always have jelly, peanut butter, kool-aid, candy, chewing gum, amongst many other things. But I guess that would have messed with the story. lol

Great reaction! I haven't watched this in forever and the main thing I remembered was how much I enjoyed Dwight Yoakam's performance. You get to enjoy him again in Sling Blade. More than just a Country Music star.

David Fincher! An embittered, newly divorced woman locks herself and her daughter up in her panic room--her state of mind--and is attacked by three assailants--her options: greed; brutal anger; and cool, calm reason. Which one will survive? All that, and a spectacular cat and mouse plot to boot. Fucking love this movie. Good shit.

- Nicole Kidman is the voice of the new wife on the phone.
- Jodie Foster was pregnant during much of the filming of the movie.
- In real life, they are called "Safe Rooms", but the writer David Koepp felt that that "Panic Room" would be a better title. He was right. Coincidentally, he also wrote Carlito's Way.
I know you've seen Zodiac already, so I recommend The Social Network (2010). Aaron Sorkin is my favorite screenwriter.

Living in New York City, it frustrated me to no end when she dialed 911 and they put her on hold. That does NOT happen. They have a huge emergency dispatch system in place.
I was like, βPlease hold? What?! They are not ordering a pizza!β LOL
Other than thatβ¦ I love this movie. π

They haven't seen The Game? I'm amazed. I could've sworn they watched it around the same time they watched Falling Down.
