There's a different one, but it's not necessarily "after" Bloater (avoiding spoilers for the heck of it, but the initials for the creature are "RK"). It's an anomaly that's present in only like two examples lore-wise, and it's TLOU2-exclusive, AFAIK.

Not sure how the old guy would ever think he could turn and shoot with a rifle quicker than Joel ๐คฆ come on man what were you thinking. The ending ofc was heartbreaking once again Ellie please bring the jokes and puns back next episode I need some happy moments

I only know because I remember thinking and then maybe it was confirmed that Last of Us infection types were inspired by Left4Dead, which also has bloaters and runners. Clickers is original to LoU, but don't remember what the 4th one is (if there is one).

Epic meltdown, my husband was a little concerned about me. #3 was heartbreaking but so, so moving and full of love. #5 was just a waste. So much love and sacrifice, but it really hurt.

My theory is the Bloater was originally a big guy with a lot of mass like a football player. The usual Clickers are skinny because the fungus has eaten away at their bodies. But with larger guys, the fungus has more to feed on and it can grow beyond the head and ends up covering the entire body like armor. Also a less plausible theory I have is that Clickers just want affection. They really want to hug and kiss!
