The Fugitive (1993) First Time Watching! Full Movie Reaction!!

The Fugitive (1993) First Time Watching! Full Movie Reaction!!

Comments

I've always loved U.S. Marshals. I feel it got a bad reputation for being a sequel that had no chance of outdoing The Fugitive but I like that it has gotten a lot of love over the years and I like the fact it's centered more on Gerard and his deputies as the family they are. I hope we will get to see U.S. Marshals reviewed on the channel one day..

The movie U.S. Marshals also features these same characters, Tommy Lee's team in this movie

Liz Booker

I'm trying lol. Nobody bites on this film but it's so good lol I mention it as much as I can. I loved how it made him seem so much more dangerous by saying he could make bombs out of Bisquick. The bank shot, the headphones, some cool scenes man. I'm a U2 fan so their music in the film elevated it for me too. When it was competing with Speed I remember they made a TV spot with that trailer voice that said "Blown Away makes Speed feel like a slow ride to grandmas house!" Haha, I've searched for that tv spot but can't find it 😅

Jonathan Patrick

I agree. I love TLJ in that. "I've come here to create a new country for you called chaos, and a new government called anarchy."

Philip Davetas

Tommy Lee Jones is a great bad guy in BLOWN AWAY (1994) also with Jeff Bridges and Forrest Whitaker. He is a crazed bomb expert terrorizing the Boston bomb squad. 💣

Jonathan Patrick

Yeah, I really love this movie. I wonder though how you guys would respond to WITNESS. I think Harry was nominated for an Oscar. I'll have to look that up to be sure.

Philip Davetas

Great movie!! Harrison Ford is great in: Presumed Innocent and Frantic also...same time era.

Roy Skodjevåg

The parade scenes were basically improvised when they realized they could use it as part of the escape. The director got permission from the mayor’s office to film with a handheld Steadicam. If you watch it again you’ll notice several people staring at Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones, and at one point you can hear someone yell “Hey, Tommy!”

Aimee

Agreed. Also, I think it would have dragged the film's pacing.

ED209

Oh yeah! Totally forgot about The Client.. That's a great movie. Heartwarming as well.

Alex

Oop! How did I remember that they’ve seen him in ApocNow but forgot about the Blade Runner movies?! 😂

Nick of Time

Love this Film !! The Oscar for Tommy Lee Jones is well deserved !!! Another Great Tommy Lee Jones Movies are "Space Cowboys" from 2000 with Clint Eastwood, "Double Jeopardy" from 1999 with Ashley Judd and "The Client" from 1994 With Susan Sarandon and "Stormy Monday" from 1988

Florian Meier

Ahh okay that makes sense! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Haha! Would be a much shorter film with today’s technology 😂 -Sam

Adding to the list now 📝 -Sam

That’s awesome! I may check out the tv series on my own. TLJ absolutely steals the show! We didn’t realize there was a sequel-not-sequel to this, so we’ll have to get it on the schedule! And would love more Wesley Snipes on the channel! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Haha awesome! Thanks for watching along again! We had such a great time -Sam

This was my first time watching this movie and I really liked it. I do think the middle drags just a little bit. I think TBR even commented on it saying that it felt like the movie was getting towards the end when there was still an hour left. Great film, great performances. I felt it could have been just a bit tighter in the middle.

Jeffrey Miller

That's interesting. I think it was a good decision because that would have been kinda weird.

Jeffrey Miller

this film rocks! Tommy Lee Jones and Harrison Ford at their very best!!!

Chris Bruneau

I figured you both would really like this one. It's one of my favorite movies. It's one of those films that isn't perfect or a masterpiece but is just a really solid action-thriller. It's one of those movies that I like to watch every couple of years because it's just fun. Also, Tommy Lee Jones is great in it and I love the humor of the U.S. Marshall crew. Great reaction.

Joel P

Harrison Ford has been on the channel! You guys forgetting about the Blade Runner movies?! Also Apocalypse Now...for about 2 minutes total screen time. Haha.

Brandon B.

Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones are great. You guys know of the Indiana Jones and all the great Harrison Ford movies esp. the Tom Clancy ones.. (Patriot Games, Clear and Present Danger) But one of Harrison Ford's best movies is Witness, and it's a mystery as well as a thriller. Another great movie with Tommy Lee Jones is Double Jeopardy with him and Ashley Judd and of course Natural Born Killers.

Alex

That was SO MUCH fun! I hadn't seen this in forever.

Uncle 'Traveling' Matt

This movie is among my top 5 all time.

Aaron Barlow

About him being recognized at Cook County Hospital, it is mentioned in the news report that he was a vascular surgeon at Chicago Memorial Hospital (now Northwestern Memorial Hospital). So he worked at a different hospital. Also there was going to be a love side story with Julianne Moore but it didn't test well. I don't know if they every actually filmed any of it.

Timothy Burrows

When cast, Julianne Moore originally had a much larger role in line with her fourth billing in the credits. She was to become an ally and love interest to Kimble. However, during editing, the director Andrew Davies and the rest of the creative team thought it would be callous and unsatisfying to the audience to have Kimble fall in love with another woman while actively trying to avenge and solve his wife's murder. So, basically all of Moore's scenes were cut. I suspect that the brief shot of a red headed woman watching Kimble on multiple televisions during the montage of Kimble preparing to go in the hospital as a janitor was from one of Moore that came from a longer scene that was cut. Since billing in a film is contractually agreed upon by the actor's agent before an actor starts shooting (and since her role wasn't entirely deleted) Moore kept her high spot in the credits.

ED209

"You tell anybody and I'll kill you" -The Janitor

kbobravo

When he was calling round the amputee list and the guy was convicted for 'armed' robbery, I thought that was 'humerus' Tickled my funny bone. Please don't give the cold shoulder for my puns.

Aaron Barlow

The cop on the elevated train is not an actor that plays The Janitor on "Scrubs", but is in fact actually The Janitor who you saw in "Scrubs". 😉

Christopher B.

Such a fun reaction! I love this movie! I highly recommend you guys watch the sequel, "U.S. Marshals" from 1998, which has Gerard and his whole team returning, plus Robert Downey Jr. and Wesley Snipes!

David Crabtree

This is such a good, smart movie. I guess my only criticism is that it loses steam towards the end. (Honestly, the confrontation with the one-armed man should've been much more dramatic. This was, after all the man who killed Kimball's wife, and this fight was basically a rematch.)

WastedPo

Scene stealing Tommy Lee Jones got an Oscar for this :)

My guess is that Nichols assumed Richard would be caught by authorities pretty quickly. He didn't need to get Sykes after him until Richard said he figured everything out and could prove it.

Jen Barnes

Awesome ! I knew Sam would love this one! This and Ferris Bueller's Day Off are the best movies at capturing Chicago. I wonder how they could do a fugitive-type movie today? Because Richard only needed DNA evidence and he would've been exonerated. And how the hell do you go on the run with the internet?

Ellie Miller

"AW, YOU BITCH!" - Daniel Schmitt XD XD And I agree, you guys should definitely react to the sequel, U.S. Marshals!

EdmanXERO

Gerard and Rooster Cogburn. The US Marshalls always get their man.

softshoes

The sequel U. S. Marshals has to be put on the list now.

Rick Rodriguez (PicoMan Photography)

I think you two have it wrong. Tommy Lee Jones' character is not a hot-head, or power hungry. His character is singularly focused, and doesn't give up till he achieves his goal. He is smart, and persistent, but now psychotic.

Vwlss Nvwls

This movie is based on an old t.v. series of the same name and premise. I never saw the t.v. show, but my father told me about it. I saw this movie in the theater, and I was blown away by how good it was. Tommy Lee Jones steals the movie, so much so they created a movie called U.S. Marshals based on his character and his team, and it also stars Wesley Snipes. Worth a watch for sure.

Vwlss Nvwls

I'm stoked that you guys watched this! I recently gave this another watch so it's fresh in my memory. Looks like I'll be watching again. :)

That one armed man was responsible for a lot of crimes committed in my house when I was ten years old. Don't turn your back on him.
