Welcome to the Patreon then :) These are some of my favorite reactors. Well worth it.

I haven't seen this movie since my dad showed it to me as a kid. When I saw you had the reaction up, I subbed just to have the company to experience it again. (Long-time YouTube follower. You two have great, insightful commentary!)

Michael G. Munz

All three of these guys are incredible in this but Eli Wallach definitely is having the most fun. This is my favorite western ever. Please check out The Outlaw Josey Wales

Jim Tatro

Young Guns 1&2

Terrific reaction. Such an utterly iconic film. What Leone did with shot selection, production design and music in this film is purely magnificent. If you want more Eastwood westerns (and who wouldn't?) check out Pale Rider and the Outlaw Josey Wales, both directed by Eastwood (and both sort of precursors to Unforgiven, which you've of course already seen). In the mood for non-Western Eastwood? Dirty Harry has already been suggested (but I'd stick to the first two...the quality of that series goes downhill fast...) and In the Line of Fire, which of course features an unforgettable villainous turn by John Malkovich (and is directed by none other than Wolfgang "Das Boot" Petersen). So glad you guys watched this classic and unforgettable film and were willing to take a dive into Westerns...keep up the great work!

I know I'm in the small minority but I love Paint You Wagon. If you're going to go all Eastwood then you can't leave out the orangutan movies. Bronco Billy. Unfortunately these are from his Sondra Locke phase of life.

and maybe continue with some of his masterpieces as a director...like Million Dollar Baby. I noticed a difference between the English version and the Italian one when Blondie is treated in the Mission and says the iconic "I'll sleep better knowing my (ironic) good friend is by my side to protect me." in the italian version he calls Tuco "my worst enemy" "I'll sleep better knowing my worst enemy watches over me"

I hope you guys will watch Sergio Leone's "Once Upon a Time" trilogy: "Once Upon a Time in the West" "Duck, You Sucker! (aka Once Upon a Time...The Revolution" and "Once Upon a Time in America". If you're going to continue with Eastwood films, I highly recommend the Dirty Harry series. It's Eastwood's signature role, along with " The Man with No Name (aka, Joe, Manco, Blondie). But I also think every Eastwood film is worth at least one viewing (okay, maybe not "Paint Your Wagon") so if that's something you'd like to do, you have my blessing.

some of the most memorable, movie music of all time!!!! what a classic film!

Chris Bruneau

I really have very fond memories of this movie and all of the trilogy. I saw them all in '67 and '68 multiple times in the theaters when I was 10 and 11. Bought the soundtrack, which I still have, in probably '70 or '71. There is a video on YouTube of some orchestra playng "The Good The Bad and The Ugly" and it is actually the main title tune and The Ecstasy of Gold, the cemetery scene song that Sam found so familiar. And now you can find many music reaction videos reacting to that orchestra video. No movie score will ever have the impact for me that this one has. It was hardwired into my 10 year old brain and gives me chill every time I hear it. Great reaction, so glad the TBR gang liked it.

I believe that they only show the extended version online. I think the only way you can watch the original version is if you own it on DVD. I haven't been able to see the original version for many years. It's too bad, because I don't think the extra scenes are really necessary and the way they constructed it is by getting the voice overs by the original actors after they were all 70-80 years old. Eastwood sounds fine, but you can really tell in Tuco's scenes. Whenever he sounds really raspy in the movie, that is because Wallach really sounds like the 80 year old man he was when he made the voice overs.

There’s more than 1 version?! 😳 -Sam

Great Reaction !!! I'm a big Eastwood Fan and for me this is one of the best Western of All Time !!! Another Great Eastwood Movies which still Missing in the List are "Where Eagles Dare" from 1968 and "Coogans Bluff" from 1968 ... My Favorite "Play Misty for Me" from 1971 and The Whole Dirty Harry Franchise ... "The Gauntlet" from 1977 and "Tightrope" from 1984 ... " A Perfect World" from 1993

Florian Meier

FYI they're watching the EXTENDED EDITION.

Ellie Miller

Great reaction! I've been waiting for this since the western poll. 😁👌 What amazed me most about this movie is when I found out the huge graveyard at the end was constructed. It was not part matte painting or aided with any visual effect. That whole huge graveyard was meticulously put together. That’s an incredible effort in production design. And Ennio Morricone’s music set it perfectly.

I'd just learned how to sneak into the drive-in where I lived. This movie showed there at the time. As kids we didn't care we just loved meeting up at the concession stand every night. This played for 2 weeks and I saw this most every night. I almost know the dialog by heart, even this many years later. One of the best soundtracks ever. Woodstock was next and you can imagine. The soundtracks of my youth. So glad you guys reacted to this considering the length. I wanted a poncho too.
