Creed II (2018) First Time Watching! Full Movie Reaction!!

Oh, absolutely. Kreese is excellent at corrupting and manipulating kids he sees just a few hours a day. Daddy Drago, while redeemed in the end, was able to focus all his manipulation, hate, and vengeance onto one student for two straight decades. Yikes! Though, it's what makes Drago Jr such a great opponent in this Creed film imo. He's not a villain, he's desperately chasing a goal that was ingrained in him since birth. And it wasn't to beat Adonis, it was to get his father's love/respect. So everyone wins in Creed 2 ultimately. Which is kind of neat.

Greg

Kreese is pretty bad as a teacher. The thing is, though, that he's successful in manipulating kids into doing and saying horrible things.

Jeff Mills

And here you thought Kreese was the worst teacher a person could have... Thanks for the great reaction as always!

Greg

I saw "Creed 2" in the theater with my Dad and it did not disappoint. The last scene with Rocky seeing his nephew, Logan, always gets to me. The scene with Adonis at his father's grave, too. I don't know how they found a kid who looks so much like Adrian/Talia Shire. Maybe I'm overanalyzing which is probably true, but I think they set the seeds here for a future spin-off featuring Logan as a boxer. I could see Logan idolizing his grandfather and following in his footsteps. As for "Creed 3" I heard that Clubber Lang's son is going to be in this, but I'm not 100% sure. Personally, I would love for there to be more backstory for Clubber.

I'm so happy you watched this whole series, and you did it so fast. I've never seen all the Rocky films in order over just a couple of months. It gave me a whole new appreciation for the story as a whole. 8 films, over 42 years, witnessing almost the entire adult life of a single character. What a journey! I am a Rocky/Stallone fan for life.

Creed 3 being directed by Michael and co-starring Jonathan Majors has me so stoked. Its going to be a masterclass for sure!

The coolest thing about this one is that they filmed scenes with Drago's son at my dad's work in the Delaware County suburbs of Philadelphia. They paid to shut down the plant for a day and filmed scenes that were supposed to be in Russia. It's a big concrete manufacturing plant and they had initially found it when location scouting because it's visible from I-95 on the way out of the airport. Everyone was very cool and it was a class operation. They spent an entire day for what sound up being less than a minute of screen time.

Thank you for this amazing reaction series. It's been a genuine pleasure. Hope you check out Cop Land (1997) with Robert De Niro, Ray Liotta, Harvey Keitel. Other than Rocky, Sylvester Stallone doesn't do many dramatic performances. This is a great one.

Ellie Miller

I think Drago saw his ex-wife and those guys leave and was like "F*** those guys." He finally got what his son was saying "Why are we here?" asking why he's even bothering with those people that cast him out.

Alex

Your comments on the Party guys and the wife being more of the villains in IV is more apparent in the recut of that film. You get more of these moments where you see Ivans reactions to things said or done. And it's more powerful at the end when he yells at the top Party guys watching that he's fighting for himself and not them. It's very subtle and makes that character more rounded. The recut still has issues but the stuff Stallone added was much for the better.

Donna Castellano

Okay thank you

Very much agree

You have to pull up your own video and watch along…it’s there to sync with your video.

Why is it blurry ?

Great movie and great reaction to a great franchise!

Richard

Great reaction! If this is the last we'll see of Rocky, this was a great passing of the torch. I think the Creed series will be just fine without Stallone, and he's always welcome to pop up from time to time. When Creed III does come out, were you guys gonna watch in the theater, or wait to react to it for the channel?

EdmanXERO

Great reactions as always. Its been such a pleasure to watch this Rocky series with you two. I think Stallone is very underrated as an actor when it comes to heart felt and emotional story telling. I agree with you both 100% that the feelings of heartache and compassion that Ivan and Victor show in the last 15 minutes are amazing. Thanks again!!

Ed Garland

The first one may be better, but this movie deserves huge credit because of one thing you thought was impossible: It manages to make the Dragos look sympathetic, mostly Viktor. Obviously, Ivan can never be forgiven for what he did to Apollo. But in the end, he found some sort of redemption. He put away his pride and ego and did what Rocky couldn't/wouldn't do, throw in the towel. Ultimately, all that mattered was his son, and they ended up being closer together, as shown by their jogging at the end. It also makes it clearer that the true villains of Rocky 4 were the wife and those government guys, who wanted to make things political and use Ivan as a weapon of sorts. They cast Ivan out when he lost, took him and Viktor back when it looked like they were ready to dominate, and then quit on them again when the last fight was getting out of hand. Ultimate opportunists. There's a great deleted scene on Youtube where Adonis comforts Viktor in the locker room after, and Rocky & Ivan even give each other a look and nod of respect. I don't understand why they didn't leave it in the movie, but you should definitely check it out.

I saw a youtube video titled "Why Creed 2 Made You Cry." I gave it a watch out of curiosity, and it did some real in-depth character analysis on Viktor. Worth a watch, and made me view him from a different perspective. Rocky said that Viktor had nothing to lose..but he does. Give it a watch if you have a spare 8 minutes. Totally worth it. https://youtu.be/M1-MGTnwbds
