Friday, we're continuing the Amazon Series - Reacher! On Saturday, we'll be watching the highly recommended film, Dirty Dancing (1987)! 2022-04-04 17:49:45 +0000 UTCYeah, well I don't think we need to go into that territory LOL or that it's "to be cool" but I think it's just one of those things that peoples' opinions and takes on a movie can change a person's ability to enjoy it and can really shape what someone will think about the film. They will watch the movie already having been told that it's a terrible film, etc. and so there's a good chance they will see it through that lens and perhaps it will amplify the faults of the film and then they see it in a bad way. Where as if they didn't hear anything bad about the film or heard positive things they might actually enjoy the film. This has been the case for me with Die Hard 5 for example. Because I heard how horrible it is the first time I watched it I thought it was terrible, but then later on I rewatched it with a fresh perspective and actually enjoyed the film.

I haven't seen it in a long while so maybe it's better than I thought, but who knows. It'll be worth it when you get to Rocky Balboa which is pretty damn good. I haven't seen Dirty Dancing. It came out when I was like three years old so it was a bit before my time and wasn't the kind of movie I would have watched when I was younger. I look forward to watching it for the first time with your commentary!

I hear the music and I break out in a cold sweat. I didn’t like it the first time, by the time it got to be around 150 times or so it became something to loathe.👍😂

"Rocky V" is probably the worst of the "Rocky" films, but it's not terrible. I think that there are some very good things in it that TBR and Samantha will enjoy. "Dirty Dancing"? I remember when that movie came out my 10th grade year of high school. The soundtrack was very popular and it got a lot of teenagers into "oldies". It's a good movie. I'd also recommend "Saturday Night Fever" to TBR and Samantha. You want to talk about a great soundtrack? That movie has one of the BEST.

Oh but hey, if you want a really great romantic comedy to watch sometime, check out “High Fidelity” from 2000, starring John Cusack. It’s hilarious, insightful, introspective and honest, and definitely made for music lovers.

I Think in Germany one of the most watched movies of all time ;) ... After Dirty Dancing you must watch "Ghost" from 1990 !! Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore and Whoopi Goldberg in this Cult Movie is Perfect !!!
