Gino Padula
2022-04-04 00:14:33 +0000 UTCI suggest Clue from 1985, Airplane from 1980, and Time Bandits from 1981.

2022-03-23 01:57:43 +0000 UTCFlorian, films have been made before the 60’s.

Catherine LW
2022-03-21 21:29:38 +0000 UTCI love 80s movies since I came up on'em, but I went with Happy Gilmore on this one.
Jah (jakwiq) (Jah Quick)
2022-03-20 17:27:28 +0000 UTCGreat Dark Comedy for future poll.... "The Babysitter" 2017

2022-03-19 22:51:11 +0000 UTCNo sex please - we're British (1973)
christopher brown
2022-03-19 22:51:02 +0000 UTCSome Like it Hot is number one in the AFI list of greatest American comedies. Sad that it’s doing so poorly.
Catherine LW
2022-03-19 20:02:08 +0000 UTCI also have to suggest The Out-of-Towners (1970) with Jack Lemmon. Not that horrible remake.
Scott Kerr
2022-03-19 18:44:02 +0000 UTCI still love it, Classic
Ken Veader
2022-03-19 16:38:08 +0000 UTCWhy has there never been a reaction to Monty Python "The Meaning of Life"? We know you love Monty Python. This would be amazing

2022-03-18 21:43:30 +0000 UTCPlease add "This Is Spinal Tap" to your comedy queue. Great classic comedy.

2022-03-18 19:20:42 +0000 UTCOh man, I forgot to suggest Kung Fu Hustle (2004).
Uncle 'Traveling' Matt
2022-03-18 15:45:31 +0000 UTCIn Bruges is the best movie on this list, and it isn't close.
Nerd Going Outside
2022-03-18 11:40:38 +0000 UTCCoen Brothers films are a bit too subtle?
David Martin
2022-03-18 06:32:51 +0000 UTC50 first dates is an all round good movie, quite touching too.
Aaron Barlow
2022-03-17 20:55:50 +0000 UTCThat one's hilarious, for sure!
Logan Kerlee
2022-03-17 19:07:37 +0000 UTCI Think it would be a very good Idea if there werde polls for decades ... One Poll only for 60's Films, one poll only for 70's films and so on .... maybe you can do an Poll Only for Clint Eastwood or Robert de Niro movies ...
Florian Meier
2022-03-17 17:25:18 +0000 UTCOk I agree of all the Adam Sandler films Happy Gilmore deserves a spot but how in the world is it beating out Raising Arizona??
2022-03-17 16:51:47 +0000 UTCA great one to add to the comedy list: There's Something About Mary.
Neal Romanek
2022-03-17 14:07:57 +0000 UTCAnd could be watched in honor of director Ivan Reitman, who just passed (and brought us Ghostbusters)
Neal Romanek
2022-03-17 13:54:30 +0000 UTCDuck Soup is one of my absolute favorites.
Neal Romanek
2022-03-17 13:53:54 +0000 UTCThey're all good movies on this list. Happy Gilmore wouldn't be my top pick, but it's still very very funny.
Neal Romanek
2022-03-17 13:51:50 +0000 UTCAnd Spinal Tap would make 3 Rob Reiner movies on the channel (after Princess Bride and Misery)
Neal Romanek
2022-03-17 13:50:25 +0000 UTCDarn good list. In the absence of The Jerk, and knowing that Raising Arizona is getting the support it deserves, I'm going with Some Like It Hot.
Neal Romanek
2022-03-17 13:48:03 +0000 UTCDuck Soup (1933). Marx Brothers. One of the funniest comedies ever made.
Mike LL
2022-03-17 10:46:53 +0000 UTCstill worth a watch imo especially if they haven't seen it
MIke
2022-03-17 09:32:42 +0000 UTCYeah, definitely avoid the edited version of Adventures in Babysitting. Most of my favourite parts are completely cut out. One with a use of the F word, one with an edgy sexual joke from one of the boys to Elisabeth Shue, and a handful of little things, usually innuendos (it looks like the version on Amazon has all the good stuff left in).
Future Boy
2022-03-17 08:13:37 +0000 UTCSandler gets a lot of stick these days but his movies, especially earlier ones are good. BTW, Watch Dodgeball and the Waterboy.
Aaron Barlow
2022-03-17 02:49:47 +0000 UTCHas nothing to do with being offensive, the jokes just don't land like they did in 1980
Smooticus
2022-03-17 01:30:18 +0000 UTCThey can't watch it on Disney+ because they edited the "offensive" stuff out of it. I know that movie back and forth. I got the urge to watch it one night and saw it was on D+ (since I was already on the app). Pop it on and it comes to the point where Brad calls Thor a certain word to annoy Sara... Yeah, changed that bit. I had to just buy it on Amazon Prime.
Donna Castellano
2022-03-17 01:01:42 +0000 UTCThe greatest era for film was mid 60’s to 1981. After 1981 it turned bad
Gino Padula
2022-03-16 23:04:21 +0000 UTCGreat name! I can hear Loyds voice saying it too haha. And yup, man, I wanted Shue to be my babysitter 🤣
Jonathan Patrick
2022-03-16 22:21:25 +0000 UTCSam, the “Golden Age” of Hollywood is arguably from 1915-1963. And some of the best films made were from the 30’s-40’s.
Catherine LW
2022-03-16 21:10:45 +0000 UTCJay, I call it temporal chauvinism.
Catherine LW
2022-03-16 21:06:28 +0000 UTCI watch them both once a year without fail, brilliantly hilarious and feel good movies
Duncan
2022-03-16 20:40:11 +0000 UTCI never thought I'd see Adventures in Babysitting on a poll, but now that I have I've been teased enough that I'll be devastated if if never comes up on the schedule! I still think it's a genuinely funny and entertaining film, and the chemistry between the kids is great (and yes, another boyhood crush on Elisabeth Shue here...)
Future Boy
2022-03-16 20:21:51 +0000 UTCI love The War of the Roses!
Future Boy
2022-03-16 20:17:35 +0000 UTCIn Bruge is the best movie on this list but not the best comedy. I would say it's more of a dramady.
Drzergberg
2022-03-16 19:22:02 +0000 UTCThe Full Monty (1997) As Good As It Gets (1997) Nothing To Lose (1997)
Domino
2022-03-16 19:04:59 +0000 UTCI voted Adventures in Babysitting. I love that movie. My two recommendations are Grumpy Old Men, and its sequel, Grumpier Old Men. Both are super funny.
Raven Dark
2022-03-16 18:38:34 +0000 UTCI goin in on stripes!! how can you not vote for Bill Murray!!
MIke
2022-03-16 18:13:58 +0000 UTCIt was kind of jarring to see In Bruges on a list of comedies with Stripes, Caddyshack, and Happy Gilmore. lol Pretty much every film on the list is worth a watch but In Bruges is a black comedy, a bit melancholy, genuinely great, and I can't not vote for that.
JayWantsACat
2022-03-16 17:42:47 +0000 UTCRecency bias?

2022-03-16 17:34:16 +0000 UTCA 60s film just won our War Poll :) But I hear you! Next month I'll be sure to do an older poll. What year should be the cutoff? -Sam
TBR Schmitt
2022-03-16 17:29:17 +0000 UTCAGREED!!
Joe Lazarus
2022-03-16 16:40:10 +0000 UTCI wish you’d poll older movies separately because they don’t have a chance due to temporal chauvinism.

2022-03-16 15:53:09 +0000 UTCThey watched Fargo ... Hudsucker is Great !!
Florian Meier
2022-03-16 15:47:42 +0000 UTCI'm certainly all for more Coen brothers films. But, I have to say, I think Raising Arizona would be last on my recommendation list for them :( Gotta put Burn After Reading, Fargo, and Hudsucker Proxy ahead of Arizona! That being said, I do recognize how popular RA is.
Uncle 'Traveling' Matt
2022-03-16 15:39:04 +0000 UTCTrue but I had to claim her here 🤣🤣 Her in Cocktail, Adventures and Karate Kid...😍 That beautiful blonde 80s hair. Ha

2022-03-16 15:22:21 +0000 UTCWho did not love Elisabeth Shue back then???

2022-03-16 15:03:03 +0000 UTCI second Analyze This.
Armchair Rizzard
2022-03-16 14:59:40 +0000 UTCI'm fine with Happy Gilmore winning, because i do love it, but Adventures in Babsitting is underrated.
Armchair Rizzard
2022-03-16 14:58:14 +0000 UTCYeah? Well, that's just like, uh, your opinion man. 😉🤣
Victor Fiegel
2022-03-16 14:56:30 +0000 UTCI voted Adventures in Babysitting, Elizabeth Shue was my crush big time lol. For future comedies, there are some funny mobster comedies, Analyze This (Deniro, Billy Crystal), Mickey Blue Eyes (Hugh Grant), and Oscar (Sylvester Stallone). Actually , Midnight Run is a good one too, with Deniro and Charles Grodin (comedy action).
Jonathan Patrick
2022-03-16 14:52:52 +0000 UTCYes, War of the Roses!
Jonathan Patrick
2022-03-16 14:49:17 +0000 UTCUmmm Some Like it Hot is one of the great comedies of all-time! 😀

2022-03-16 14:27:22 +0000 UTCI'm pushing Raising Arizona just so you can continue your Coen Brothers experience
Smooticus
2022-03-16 14:23:47 +0000 UTCI watched Caddyshack a few months back. It hasn't aged too well in some places
Smooticus
2022-03-16 14:21:21 +0000 UTCRaising Arizona is easily the funniest movie on the list. In Bruges is the only one that can compete in terms of quality.
Victor Fiegel
2022-03-16 14:20:21 +0000 UTCI understand the Sandler love, but have you guys seen Raising Arizona. This movie rules!
BD Williams
2022-03-16 14:14:33 +0000 UTCThere’s a Jaws reference in Caddyshack that has to be seen to be believed! 🤣🤣
Rick Trujillo
2022-03-16 14:13:34 +0000 UTCHappy Gilmore all the way!
bernthe23
2022-03-16 13:48:21 +0000 UTCFor Future Comedy Polls i have These Three Danny de Vito Movies: "Ruthless People" from 1986 !! Cult Comedy from the 80's with Bette Midler as Co Star, "Throw Mommy from the Train" from 1987 with Billy Crystal as Co Star !! CLASSIC Oscar Nominated Comedy !!! And at least " The War of the Roses" from 1989 with Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner as Co Star !!! Very Dark Comedy !!! All 3 Are Great
Florian Meier
2022-03-16 13:42:09 +0000 UTCFair point, swapped my vote to In Bruges.
Logan Kerlee
2022-03-16 13:38:36 +0000 UTCY’all are the greatest movie reviewers on YouTube ever! Keep up the awesome work y’all two!! Love y’all so much!!
Matthew Cope
2022-03-16 13:33:38 +0000 UTCHappy Gilmore is like Dumb and Dumber. You have a few laughs but it’s not up to par with Caddyshack; Stripes; In Bruges or Spinal Tap.
Gino Padula
2022-03-16 13:32:59 +0000 UTCIn Bruges' is definitely a fave of mine - but it's going up against Happy Gilmore and I've ALWAYS thought that was funny. Watched it many years ago when it was first released and laughed up a storm. I'm hoping that Sam has a great time with it as well. :)
Logan Kerlee
2022-03-16 13:32:24 +0000 UTCYa'll that are hating on Happy Gilmore.. come on! You know that he movie's funny and Sam hasn't watched it yet. It's a movie that is VERY much worth a watch. It has my vote and I hope that it wins.
Logan Kerlee
2022-03-16 13:30:03 +0000 UTCAgree. In Bruges should be on the list over Happy Gilmore

2022-03-16 13:24:34 +0000 UTCNot really sad. More a reflection of the demographics of the viewers, i.e. a younger audience.

2022-03-16 13:23:49 +0000 UTCYou guys. If you haven't seen In Bruges, you're in for a treat! Happy Gilmore can win a poll anytime... let's give In Bruges a try!!

2022-03-16 13:23:08 +0000 UTCIf happy Gilmore wins that is a sad commentary

2022-03-16 13:21:06 +0000 UTCIt's great to see Adventures In Babysitting in a poll! I loved it as a kid, and I still find it great fun today. Now that it's on your radar, I hope you choose to watch it one day!

2022-03-16 13:18:02 +0000 UTCWHAT!?!? TOO many "youngsters" voting for sure...gotta go Caddyshack at some point, HAPPY Gilmore will win this easily I'm sure. (Stircrazy is a sleeper...Adventures in Babysitting is abguily pleasure)
AC Malin
2022-03-16 13:09:26 +0000 UTCHave you guys seen Liar Liar? Jim Carrey at his comedic peak. Put it on the next poll if you haven't. The 40-year Old Virgin is another personal fav of mine.
Shehab Dawoud
