2022-09-25 23:27:17 +0000 UTCTo be fair fan boys definitely helped get this show rolling, two of the show writers are the top fan boys in the planet according to Ralph and Will, they stated that they were never going to reprise their role for this unless it brought something fresh while still treating the original with respect. The two writers are genius! they even make some of the more cheesy/not well liked things in the karate kid with depth and purpose!! i can't wait to see the rest of series with you all!

I have to see I see it as a genuine miracle that this show is not hot garbage, nevermind the amazing excellent show that it is. BTW, in my comment above I wanted to add that you have to check local laws in your area and state to see exact self-defense laws, etc.

2022-02-16 17:05:04 +0000 UTCJohnny, in pain, after kicking someone in the head for the first time in years: "Ahhhh..." That was pretty fucking great! Sometimes it's necessary to criticize yourself. It's not pleasant, obviously, but it IS necessary sometimes... this is one of those times... I COMPREHENSIVELY dismissed this show when it came out as a lame-ass, faux-nostalgic, desperate-for-fame-again, cash-grab. Beyond that, if I'm super honest, I judged those who enjoyed it as, to be nice, lame-ass fanboys. I'm not proud of these facts... and I never verbalized them previously... but they are facts :( Wow, was I wrong. Super wrong! True, it's only one episode, but I can tell already that I was off by a mile. It's not a good feeling... That being said, I'm now pumped to go through the rest with y'all, which IS a good feeling! So, in the end, maybe it all balances out :)

2022-02-16 06:37:35 +0000 UTCSelf-defense and defense of others is legal so Johnny and Mr. Miyagi, if charged with anything would beat those charges. There's instances often of teenagers robbing or terrorizing the elderly. Teens can be pretty tough and ruthless. If you defend someone like Johnny did or Miyagi did you are legally in the right to do so. Now that doesn't mean you won't come under civil lawsuit from family members or the perps themselves but criminally you are ok.

You might think I'm nuts when I tell you I grew up in the 80s and 90s and I never listened to Guns N Roses until a couple weeks ago.

2022-02-15 19:43:57 +0000 UTCThis was my second time watching this episode and it's still holds up as lots of fun. Considering how many older franchises have been screwed with and ruined in the past few years, I figured this would be no different. I was happily surprised by how good it was and I've enjoyed every episode so far. They really did a great job with furthering the whole Karate Kid storyline in a way that enhances the characters without messing them up.
