Cliffhanger (1993) First Time Watching! Full Movie Reaction!!

Comments

Great reactions. Glad you enjoyed this "go to" action pic

ron clint

Yes! Eiger Sanction is a great mystery/action James Bond type film with Eastwood at his best

Mike Tocci

Yep, Harlin did Die Hard 2 and Nightmare on Elm Street 4 (among others)

Mike Tocci

Thank you so much for this great reaction! Loved it! I haven't seen this film in several years and I forgot how good it was. I loved Samantha's "I can't wait for these guys to die!". For TBR, what we need now is a movie that has both heights and spiders, that would be so fun to watch. ๐Ÿ˜… Thanks again, I really enjoyed this.

Gary Leyh

Personally I think Michael Rooker should have found a way to ditch that crew - i mean it couldn't have been hard; it's obvious they didn't have their shit together - and left them to die on that mountain

Smooticus

IKR. Qualen was ex special ops military, you'd think he would pick a more professional crew.

Aaron Barlow

That black guy was serious asshole, he was by far the most unlikeable character.

Aaron Barlow

Even though it hurts the bad guys I still hate it when I see lots of money get lost/destroyed.

Aaron Barlow

Didn't Gabe tie her harness that broke? So he was kind of responsible.

Aaron Barlow

The beginning to this movie traumatised me when I first saw it.

Aaron Barlow

Everest from 2015 is also good.

Mark M

If you guys love this movie you should really Watch "Vertical Limit" same kind of mountain climbing thriller style movie!

Braden Derksen

The bad guys in this was the worst crew ever

Smooticus

If you're looking for another good Stalone movie, try Cop Land. His best performance since since Rocky Wait, have you guys even seen Rocky

Smooticus

Another way to remember is the word stalagmite has a "g", "g" is for "ground". Stalactite has a "c", "c" is for ceiling.

Nicotti

Ace Ventura When Nature Calls spoofed this movie perfectly

Jason Dolan

When you guys gonna do Rocky? You guys are gonna love Rocky.

Alex

Right?! :S

Uncle 'Traveling' Matt

Absolutely love these types of movies, with snow ice water and wilderness, have seen The Edge about 15 times, such a good movie, another in that category I watch all the time is "Vertical Limit (2000)" ,such a fun thrilling ride

Duncan

So underrated I've never heard of it. I looked it up and it's now at the top of my watch list. My favourite "surviving in the mountains" type film is The Edge (1997) with Anthony Hopkins and Alec Baldwin. I wish that one wasn't underrated too, because no one reacts to it.

Future Boy

Damn. I just rewatched that scene he's got that face the entire time it's crazy.

Alex

"I can't wait for these guys to die!" lol, Sam's conducting the harsh train this time! :) Seriously though, that first scene is definitely memorable. They did that very well... except for Frank. Can we discuss his acting choices when the lady was in danger of falling and everyone is super worried and stressed?!? ... this is Frank's facial expression: https://i.imgur.com/vWjg8n9.png edit: If you guys ever decide to do a documentary, I'd strongly recommend Touching the Void (2003). A CRAZY true climbing story!

Uncle 'Traveling' Matt

Another great action-type film that involves rock climbing is Eastwood's "The Eiger Sanction". One of his more underrated movies imo.

Mitchell Smilie

Damn. Sam's got that blood lust for Qualen lol.

Mitchell Smilie

Good way to remember: stalagmites come up from the ground. Because they use their might to come up from the ground. Stalactites hang on "tight" to the ceiling. But yes I agree epic kill! Thanks for the reaction. This was a fun one.

CallMeWheels

Great reaction! I'll never forget that opening scene. I think the director Renny Harlin also directed Die Hard 2. This was basically Die Hard on a mountain. For more mountain climbing excitement check out Vertical Limit starring Chris O'Donnell and directed by Martin Campbell.

Mark M

Nothing traumatized me as a kid so much as that opening, haha. Still so intense. Amazing.

ScotchBeard78

Really need to watch Ace Ventura 2 now :)

Mike Adams

This is a great film, I haven't seen this in forever. At first it seemed you guys were intrigued by what they were doing but then you were like getting motion sick and stuff lol.. so I dunno.. But if you guys have any interest in like coz that job they had, mountain rescue, it's a real job, and it really is that dangerous. It's actually more dangerous than they show in the movie it's not just heights or cold but the atmosphere is really thin that high up and people have to train to be able to just stand in that kind of environment without passing out, much less do the rigorous work that rescue workers have to do. I learned this from this show Hard to Kill on Discovery with Tim Kennedy (not the Segal movie) .. Basically he goes to all these insanely dangerous jobs like mountain rescue and he talks to them about what it takes to do the job and how dangerous the job is. And these are jobs that people do every day. Then he actually does some training and does the job. Not sure if that would be your thing but I found it interesting. but it's pretty cool. One episode goes into the life of a test pilot and it's like "This guy is the reason why flying is so safe for you." but it's not safe for him. It's a cool show.

Alex

Very one-dimensional.

Joel P

That actress did an incredible job,she looked utterly utterly terrified,in all the movies I have ever watched,I have never seen anyone project the look of fear better than she did,she sold it perfectly

Duncan

Me casually watching the reaction Blonde MTV home boy gets gunned down in the back Dan&Sam in unison "NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! My cat raises his head, looks around the room wondering what the hell is going on ๐Ÿฑ 30 minutes later as Walker runs in to the tripwire on the bridge Sam "OH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"!!!!!!!! My cat raises his head again and leaves the room in disgust ๐Ÿฑ๐Ÿ˜„

Duncan

Oh and you went with the wrong word, stalactite forms from the ceiling. think of the word tight as in hanging from above

Terry Lee

After watching that dramatic opening with the tragedy, I now know where the beginning scene from Ace Ventura pet Detective 2 when nature calls got its inspiration from because there is a very similar scene at the beginning of that movie

Terry Lee

Every time I see this movie I can't help but think of ace Ventura when nature calls ๐Ÿ˜ƒ if you know you know ๐Ÿ˜‰ great movie great reaction guys I'm still hoping one sat you watch the Expendables movies ๐Ÿ™ and maybe at some point Stargate ๐Ÿ™‚

Ian

That was a fun rewatch. Renny Harlin really is one of the unsung action directors of the 90s mainly because his career went into free fall after Cutthroat Island. But Die Hard 2 Die Harder, Cliffhanger, The Adventures of Ford Fairlane and Nightmare on Elm Street 4 were all solid movies. He sort of rebounded with The Long Kiss Goodnight and Deep Blue Sea but nothing ever hit again for him in the 21st Century. Still gotta pour one out for Renny for some of these terrific action films he gave us.

Jason Dolan

Thank you for the Great reaction!! I Think Cliffhanger is in My Top 5 Stallone movies of All Time ... A good Suggestion of Stallone is also " Cop Land" from 1997 !! With Robert De Niro and Harvey Keitel and Ray Liotta as Co Stars ... Another one is "Assassins" from 1996 With Antonio Banderas and Julianne Moore ... A good Pick with John Lithgow is his Oscar Nominate Role in "Terms of Endearment" from 1983 with Jack Nicholson and Shirley McLaine

Florian Meier

It's been years since I'd seen this, and I was worried it hadn't aged well. But it was great fun. Fantastic reaction, as always!

Future Boy

If you decide to continue on Stallone journey, check out Oscar (1991) for some comedic chops, personally I think it was one of his best roles and he has great comedy timing.

Alec S

I remember seeing this movie in high school at a theater that was close to closing down. As a result, all tickets were $1.00. My friends and I used to once or twice every week that year and we would see just about everything that looked even half decent. This one was a no brainer 'cause I've always been a Sly Stallone fan. When it comes to action movies, Stallone is number one with Arnold coming in at second place. Kinda like on dramatic performances Pacino is number one over number two DeNiro. It's all friendly competition though, those four guys are responsible for some of my favorite movies ever. Anything with any of them, and I'll be watching. Good times!

Mike Tocci

I love the villains in this movie. So easy to hate!

Steven Montano

This movie is awesome, the opening scene with the girlfriend dropping is one of the most intense moments ever.๐Ÿ‘
