Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975) First Time Watching! Full Movie Reaction!!

We understand you may be disappointed, because Tropic Thunder actually won the poll. We are going to do our best to get the Full Length of Tropic Thunder up before the end of the month. Once we've cleared up some of the copyright issues we're having with Paramount, we'll get it up on the channel. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975) First Time Watching! Full Movie Reaction!!

Comments

Did you guys ever get a full length up for Tropic Thunder?

Donna Castellano

It was Game of Thrones before Game of Thrones :)

Jason Dolan

One of the coolest fantasy movies ever.

Neal Romanek

The Godfather films are on the channel, check them out. Scarface and Carlito's Way are classics too. Pacino is the best!

Time Bandits is a must, and if you're looking for more whimsical fun try the Adventures of Baron Munchausen

Just to give credit where due, Monty Python is Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Michael Palin. Together as Monty Python, in various combinations of some of them together and seperately they have been responsible for so many great movies and television in the past fifty plus years. John Cleese is my favorite of the bunch though I enjoy them all. Looking forward to more Python. And check out Cleese and Palin along with Jamie Lee Curtis and Kevin Kline in A Fish Called Wanda (1998) and Fierce Creatures (1997) Both hilarious movies!

Had such a fun time watching this with you two! xD I've watched this before a NUMBER of times! It's so darn silly. :) It's always such a joy to introduce this movie to people, as well! Thanks for watching this one with us. :)

Logan Kerlee

Awesome, that’s why we love you two!!!👍

“Life of Brian” and “Meaning of Life” are the two other obvious Monty Python films to watch, but another really funny one is called “And Now For Something Completely Different”, which is sort of a greatest hits collection of their best skits from their tv show.

Airplane Daniel did when he first started the channel, unfortunately, he got a copyright strike so it’s not on the channel, but the full length reaction is still here on Patreon! This is Spinal Tap is on the list 😊 -Sam

Thank you! The strike on Airplane was removed, but we still have the strike from Friday the 13th. We haven’t received any response to our emails, so we’ll need to wait for it to expire in March. Unfortunately, they upheld their claims, which we’re very happy aren’t strikes but also, those videos are all blocked. -Sam

Thank you for the recommendations! -Sam

Ian

Life of Brian is a must see after this.

Sean McDonough

Hope you watch Life of Brian real soon.

Misanthropic IX

Life of Brian is next for Monty Python. Then Meaning of Life, which is definitely third place of the three. I would also second whomever suggested A Fish Called Wanda, one of my favorites. Great reaction!

Allen S.

Airplane (1980) and This Is Spinal Tap (1984) would be great additions to your next comedy poll! :)

Ethan R.

I'm glad you (well Sam) got to finally see this. "Holy Grail" is second to none amongst the Gilliam/Python releases (IMO). "Time Bandits" (1981) is a close second in my book. Please put it on your list. 😁

Mr. Writhms

I am very glad you have enjoyed one of the pre-eminent portrayals of one of the great epics of history, the Arthurian legends. Never has there been such a depiction of King Arthur with such stature. Never have his knights been more brave and daring, willing to throw themselves into the very teeth of danger, heedless of their own lives. Never once did they run away from danger. No, there's no way "RUN AWAY" practically became their catchphrase. And certainly were no songs sung about fleeing from danger. Keen political observation and satire, contrasted with the base nature of bathroom humor. Knowledge of such earth-shattering secrets as swallows. Never have horses been more imaginary. Never has a moose been less seen. Never have rabbits been more bloodthirsty. Never have the French been more outrageous. And never have the police been so foreshadowed before they arrive and shut everything down...

I'm sorry to hear that you're still having trouble with Paramount. Are you still in the situation of having 2 copyright strikes on your channel, or did you manage to get 1 or both of them expunged?

Uncle 'Traveling' Matt

Working Girl and A Fish Called Wanda are definitely legit masterpieces. A lot of people forget but A Fish Called Wanda was nominated for Best Director at the Oscars that year even though it didn't get the Best Picture nod. Harrison Ford SHOULD have been nominated for Best Supporting Actor.

Jason Dolan

Now you have to watch "A Fish Called Wanda" from 1988 with Jamie Lee Curtis and John Cleese ... Also a Classic Comedy !!! New Suggestions for Comedy "Jumpin Jack Flash" 1986 with Whoopi Goldberg and "Working Girl" from 1988 with Harrison Ford, Sigourney Weaver and Melanie Griffith ...Both are Classics !!!

This movie is one of my desert island picks! First time I saw it was some random Sunday afternoon on channel 9 or something when I was about 16, after the first scene I had the presence of mind to start recording it (VHS days lol), I was sober and laughing harder than anything had ever made me laugh. I had heard of Monty Python but never seen it, I didn't know what I was watching but I knew I loved it and still do, by the rabbit scene I was like, this is the greatest movie ever made 😆 Two or three more trivia things: one, the production was financed largely by members of Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd, George Harrison of the Beatles is actually in Life of Brian. Two, the budget being so tight was why they solved the problem of expensive horses by paying for coconuts instead 😂 the only actual horse in the entire movie that was ridden by the guy who sliced the historian's throat 🤣 and there are a few really good ad libbed improv things that made it into the final cut but my favorite is probably "Tim" the Enchanter, John Cleese just forgot his line and said Tim and so that's what we call him now!

Check out Monty Python’s Life of Brian next, it’s one of the funniest movies ever.😂
