Tango & Cash (1989) First Time Watching! Full Movie Reaction!!

Tango & Cash (1989) First Time Watching! Full Movie Reaction!!

Comments

Wow. That was a bad movie. Not the worst I've seen, but definitely the worst I've seen today. Or in the past few weeks.

Ron Moses

What sick people told you guys not to watch this movie??? This is a classic, one of the last great action films of the 80's, a great team up between Kurt and Sly, funny one liners, great action scenes, cheesy but memorable bad guys and a great soundtrack. Yeah its cheesy stupid but it wasn't meant to be some high-brow thriller. You know what you're getting when you have Stallone and Russell as cops in a 1989 action movie so I don't quite understand how anyone could have expected anything else. But glad y'all enjoyed this movie, a great pick for the channel, and a perfect mix of action and comedy that the two of you like to see.

They were actually having fun and making fun of themselves with the one liners on purpose etc…

Jason Mangen

You definitely need to see Reservoir Dogs. And can we get a Danny Trejo fest?!

Neal Romanek

Nighthawks is really good! With a young Rutger Hauer as the baddie.

Neal Romanek

Check out Nighthawks with Stallone and Billy Dee Williams. Great early eighties action thriller!

Mike Tocci

I hope Cliffhanger has been mentioned. It's one of Stallone's best big budget action films: super tense, great villains (John Lithgow is downright menacing), and some flat-out fantastic action sequences. No Stallone collection is complete without it!

Steven Montano

Overboard?

Jason Dolan

Not like Clue in plot but exactly like Clue in that the bulk of the action takes place in one big house! And kind of the same kind of humor. Maybe not the best comp but always had the same vibe to me. Like NOISES OFF!

Jason Dolan

Really loved watching you guys react to this one. If you want to watch something in the same vein of Tango and Cash where you are overloaded with action tropes you should give the 1983 Chuck Norris film Lone Wolf Mcquade a shot.

Joseph Tamburo

Must see Stallone films: Rocky series. For Kurt: Overboard, Executive Decision, Death Proof(one of my favorite Taratino films), Dark Blue, Sky High

David Crabtree

Fun fact: Tango & Cash was the last movie of the 80's, being released Dec 22, 1989! The end of an era! Such a fun reaction for a fun movie. This is a movie you watch for the one-liners and the Sly and Kurt interaction!

David Crabtree

If you guys’ ever decide to try out some more Kurt Russell movies I would recommend Backdraft, Tombstone, Stargate, Breakdown (as someone else mentioned). All very different but all quite good.

Tommy Richards

Probably the worst movie by (Soviet born) Andrei Konchalovsky to start with - run of the mill action flick. You two should rather watch "Runaway Train" (1985) by the same director, which is far better movie - Jon Voight was nominated for an Oscar. Just to spike your interest, there is a video floating on YouTube where Jodie Foster was asked in an interview (think might have been Larry King) which role she feels was the role that she really missed out on. To my surprise she said that it was the role of the young girl in "Runaway Train" - the part eventually went to Rebecca De Mornay. I mean if Jodie Foster thinks the movie was worthy of her talents, that's good enough for me :)

Oscar is nothing like Clue!

David Crabtree

Man, I hadn't seen this since I was a kid! Yeah, it reminded me of Big Trouble in Little China as well! :) The 80s... so. much. cocaine. For a GREAT, underrated Kurt Russel film, try Breakdown (1997) - thriller/suspense/action.

Uncle 'Traveling' Matt

That was fun, pure 80s, don't think I'd watch it otherwise but the reaction was fun. When Sam said that's either an accent I've never heard or a very bad accent 😂 (that guy was in Bladerunner) and this movie was like a who's who of 80s character actors.

Joe D. MacGuffinstuff

Haha those luscious locks! -Sam

Oh woah! What an interesting parallel! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Definitely on our list! But ooh I didn't know it was like Clue, we definitely loved that one, so I'm excited :) -Sam

Lots to look forward to! -Sam

That is ironic! I haven't seen Reservoir Dogs, but definitely want to check it out! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Yes! We need some more Kurt Russell on the channel! I've added both to the list :) -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Haha! We appreciate the honesty :) -Sam

If there is another movie where Kurt Russell had bigger 80's hair I can't think of it. This movie is stupid entertaining.

Jen Barnes

This movie and reaction kept on making me think about The Green Mile throughout, first we had Del who made the fake recording, then we had the mice and we also had an electrocution of jaw guy on the prison roof

Duncan

I RRRREEEEEALLLLLLLY hope you guys watch OSCAR - it's one of my favorite Stallone performances - it reminds me a LOT of CLUE actually

Jason Dolan

After the Stallone series, get in a few Jet Li movies, couple Van Damme movies, then you'll be ready for the Expendables!

Mike Adams

I think I saw this back in the day but I can't remember it (that probably says a lot lol) but, hell with it, why not? Oh hey, the guy who plays the police Captain is Eddie Bunker, ironic, since he was a career criminal before he became a writer. A lot of Quentin Tarantino's work is partly inspired by his writing (he also plays Mr. Blue in Reservoir Dogs), and he's the guy who got Danny Trejo into acting. Trejo at the time was working to help rehabilitate ex-cons, one of whom was working on a movie that Bunker was an advisor on (or writer, not sure), Bunker saw Trejo and recognized him from San Quentin, where Trejo had been the boxing champ (forget which weight class). More to the story but you get it, from then on Danny Trejo gradually built his acting career, but he still gives a lot back to the community etc.

Joe D. MacGuffinstuff

I love this movie and this reaction !! Childhood Classic !! Another great Kurt Russell is Overboard with Goldie Hawn from 1987 and Tequila Sunrise from 1988 With Mel Gibson

Florian Meier

Love you two, but god I hate this movie.
