The Big Lebowski (1998) First Time Watching! Full Movie Reaction!!

The Big Lebowski (1998) First Time Watching! Full Movie Reaction!!

Comments

True Grit remake was well made. Worth watching, but a real downer.

Will Zamora

With all this Coen Brothers love, you guys should take one movie at a time and NOT put them up against each other in a poll. Thanks for your Labowski reaction! Can't wait for the next Coen flick.

Gerald Corona

YESSSS! So, you DO have an eye for greatness. lol

Gerald Corona

The magic words here are, The Coen brothers! They have an impressive, entertaining and well rounded body of work! Lebowski being among one of my favorites. Another one is Miller's Crossing. A cool, old school gangster flick with a juicy plot. And if you decide to jump on the Coen train, you'll soon realize they like to use the same group of actors. (Steve Buscemi)

Gerald Corona

Raising Arizona is on one of your surveys, but i feel a deep desire to recommend Miller's Crossing, Fargo, Blood Simple, Oh Brother Where Art Thou, and the True Grit remake if you want to see more Cohen Brothers flicks

Smooticus

I had avoided this movie all my life. Another Cohen gem. Not a movie about nothing, this was definetely something. This movie is the only entry in its own unique genre, the first and only stoner noir, with bowling. Like all the best classic noirs, the mystery was such a convoluted labyrinth you had to think about it once it was all over to see how it all fit together. But don't count on any help from the Dude, who really can't string two thoughts together most of the time, but give him credit, he did solve it in the end.

Mike LL

This was a blast! My all time favorite comedy which I could watch and quote all day long. Thanks for the sharing 🤙🏼

David Lengyel

“That’s your name, dude!”

James Willingham III

How buzzed were you guys by the end? You were only missing a great big bong.

Shaun2342!

The movie connects to the first season in one instance. Mostly, though, they are remixes of Coen Brother movies. Even Big Lebowski has some influence on it.

PIG

Definitely on our list! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

TBR Schmitt

Definitely! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

They were surprisingly good, but much stronger than I thought it would be! I definitely could see it getting funnier with more re-watches! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Haha! We'll need to get TBR Schmitt on here for the full story! The short version is he almost ran him over with his car haha -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Haha! We went in blind but that's even funnier that you went in with almost the complete opposite of expectations! I love that message! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Aww thank you!! Oh my goodness, I had no idea there was a DudeCon! That is hilarious -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Donny! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

One of the (many) great things about the Coens is there's a movie for everyone in their work and they're all excellent.

Neal Romanek

Not mentioned, Raising Arizona. One of the great comedies of my time. This is one of the great quotable movies. You'll notice things in you life now that are part of this, stuff you didn't know.

softshoes

Not my favorite Coen Brothers movie, but still dynamite. And great seeing your reaction!

Neal Romanek

So many amazing one liners! "Donny, you're out of your element!!!"

James Willingham III

John Goodman is amazing in this movie.

James Willingham III

Sam's cringing during all of Walter's rants was funny. John Turturro's intro with Gypsy Kings version of Hotel California was great. It turned me on to some of their other songs. Great reaction guys!!

Mark M

Another great Coen Bros comedy (and my favorite of their comedies) is "O' Brother Where Are Thou" (2000) And a great Coen Bros gangster movie is "Miller's Crossing" (1990) "No Country For Old Men" (2007) is a crime drama but I think its the closest thing to a slasher-horror movie that the Coens ever made. The main antagonist gives off that vibe.

Mr. Writhms

Just finished watching and whoa! It was such a fun rewatch. I've seen this multiple times before but it's such a worthy movie to rewatch! I was cracking up throughout. xD hahaha, definitely one of my faves from the 90's.

Logan Kerlee

The Man Who Wasn’t There

Will Zamora

Fargo,No Country for Old Men

Will Zamora

Thank you

Will Zamora

You guys HAVE to keep going with the Coen brothers! Fargo (1996) is next :)

Uncle 'Traveling' Matt

This is a rewatch movie. You'll notice things you didn't the first time, and you'll get things you noticed but didn't get the first time. Fundamentally, the movie is about friendship, and I love it.

barn ninny

Loved the reaction, white Russians are good lol. And this is honestly one of my all-time favorite movies, it never gets old, I think it gets even funnier (I think it's a word? More funny) the more you watch it. The Dude and Floyd in True Romance are some of my favorite stoner characters, but that's a long list, including most of the characters in Dazed and Confused

Joe D. MacGuffinstuff

OH HEY! One thing. You mentioned that Sam Elliot almost killed you when you were a kid? You cant just drop a line like that and just walk away. This is a story I want to hear. Or will this just be a story lost to time like "Did they win the bowling tournament?" lol

Bernie Xangpow Monsanto

I have thought the same. Seinfeld is the SHOW about nothing. The Big Lebowski is the MOVIE about nothing. lol

Bernie Xangpow Monsanto

The first time I watched this was a few years ago (like 3 or 4 years) because I thought it was a super serious, murder mystery, crime drama. What I got was NONE of that. I got a movie I have seen so many time, even blurred, I could tell what was going on. lol When I am feeling low and my head is not in a good place, I watch this and Clerks. Those two movies are great because they show you that, LIFE. SUCKS. BUT as long as you have good friends, who cares. Live your best life and let life shove whatever at you.

Bernie Xangpow Monsanto

I fully agree with Sam: Donny deserved better! Awesome reaction, you two! This is one of my favorite movies so it tickles me that you got a kick out of it. Btw, I'm not sure if you heard, but there's an event called DudeCon - where fans of the movie get together to nerd out! I really want to go to one, sometime.

Rue

I have always felt Big Lebowski is kind of like Seinfeld. A movie about nothing, but also about everything!

Erich Bomke

“I am the walrus.”

PIG

This reaction really tied the room together.

Mark M

Releasing this on Shabbos! The dude abides.

Erich Bomke

Watching this in a little bit! I'm excited. :)

Logan Kerlee

Thank you
