Wait, have you seen Interstellar? You've seen Interstellar, haven't you. Have you seen Interstellar?

Neal Romanek

Even though it won't win you should do Her. Also, Being John Malkovich, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind are great original sci fi films.

Shaun2342!

lol

Nick Kessler

Short Circuit 1 & 2

christopher brown

Sam mentioned you all were “obsessed” with the Black Mirror series. I think you’d really appreciate “Ex Machina”. Similar tone and themes. Even stars someone from a particular Black Mirror episode. ☺️

"If"

Tyler Foster

Definitely! If it wins, we would do both! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Can't wait to watch them all! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

I've added it to our list! Thank you :) -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Good to know! Minority Report and AI are on our list! We have both seen War of the World and Edge of Tomorrow! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Yes! As long as we can find it (which I'm not worried about), then we'll be watching The Final Cut! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

We'd like to get to them all on this poll! But yes, if Blade Runner wins we'll definitely watch both :) -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Coming soon!

TBR Schmitt

Once you've done Blade Runner, I think it's safe to say you can just slot in Blade Runner 2049 without putting it on a poll ;)

Tyler Foster

Planet Of The Apes is the best on this list by far

Ken Veader

Although Apollo 13 is a science fact! :) Add alongside it, The Right Stuff. Both of them great movies about real astronauts.

Neal Romanek

Ridley Scott redefined scifi (and horror) with Alien, then redefined it again with his next film, Blade Runner. Both such amazing accomplishments. And I'm so excited Planet Of The Apes is on this list. And the 1970s Invasion Of The Body Snatchers (sort of a scifi horror movie)

Neal Romanek

Predestination is interesting and often overlooked - would recommend if you haven't seen. It was the movie that introduced me to Sarah Snook, who's amazing in HBO's Succession as well.

Eric Lee

I'd say that Her is more of a romantic-Drama than a Sci-fi, even though that is quite a big element of the film. Some other Sci-fis that you may or may not have seen: Minority Report, War of The Worlds, Edge of Tomorrow, A.I

Shehab Dawoud

I'm sure others have said it in the comments already, but I'd like to reiterate that if Blade Runner wins then you absolutely have to watch the Director's Cut. I don't think I've ever seen anyone that prefers the theatrical cut.

Uncle 'Traveling' Matt

The new Blade Runner is a sequel, rather than a reboot.

Arioch

A man of culture, I see. :D

Arioch

I'm also waiting for Ex Machina to win the poll. This movie is really cool. I give my vote for this film every time.

Максим Булат

Galaxy Quest.

Sean McDonough

If you react to Blade Runner, then you definitely have to react to Blade Runner 2049. I'd personally like to see your reactions to Ex Machina. It's pretty cerebral and I think you two would really like it.

JayWantsACat

Johnny Mnemonic

😂😂

TBR Schmitt

Added to the list! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Yes! We had notes from the recommendations for the Final Cut! As long as we’re able to stream it, that’s the one we’d watch -Sam

TBR Schmitt

We promise to get to it! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Haha we will get to it eventually! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

I wasn’t sure so I looked at lists of some must watch films and it looked like the 1956 version was on the horror lists and 1978 was on the sci-fi lists! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

😂😂

TBR Schmitt

We have not! We haven’t seen the new one either! I say new one because I’m not sure if it’s a remake or a sequel! We definitely want to get to Forbidden Planet and see Leslie Nielsen in a more serious role! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

If you're going with Blade Runner... go with the "FINAL CUT". Thank you. 🙂 And then react to "Blade Runner 2049"... because... its the law.

Mr. Writhms

I agree!

Mr. Writhms

Apollo 13

christopher brown

Blade Runner should probably be the Final Cut version

MotoDork

Blade Runner interesting to look at but SLOW. Planet of the Apes is the better movie.

Tyrone Tyrone

I will say watch Blade Runner (you've alredy seen other Ridley Scott films so...) and then Planet of the Apes. Other movies on the list seem cool tho.

Matías

I know blade runner is going to win, but man I want Forbidden Planet so badly. Nobody reacts to old movies.

Sean McDonough

Soldier (1998) staring Kurt Russell

christopher brown

Blade Runner or Ex Machina.

Nick of Time

Blade Runner is totally gonna win, and it should, I favored another choice but that is a must-see movie for any self respecting Sci-Fi enthusiast, as is any other PK Dick adaptation like Total Recall, which they've already appreciated. A Scanner Darkly is another I really REALLY liked, and very uniquely executed by Richard Linklater (love that guy); Minority Report not as much but it's definitely an interesting concept like all of his stories.

Joe D. MacGuffinstuff

Clearly it won't win the poll but I can't wait for you guys to watch Her. One of the most beautiful films I have ever seen.

Domino

Invasion of the Body Snatchers '78 is almost more horror than sci-fi in my humble opinion, just saying. I do love me some sci-fi horror though, the more cosmic the better. When asked why the aliens don't tell us why they're here: "You're more advanced than a cockroach, have you ever tried explaining yourself to one of them?" One of my favorite quotes, from an underrated movie, the Mothman Prophecies 😆 it wasn't a great movie, but some of the dialogue in that screenplay was fantastic!

Joe D. MacGuffinstuff

I need a reason to watch Blade Runner again, so that gets my vote.

Chris

Can you guess which one I voted for?

Mitchell Smilie

Holy cow, you guys haven't seen Blade Runner? That should win, and I'll be content when it does, but just on principle I'm going to keep voting for Forbidden Planet until there's nothing left. It's just an important movie in the history of science fiction, together with The Day the Earth Stood Still. :D
