War Movie Poll!

Help pick the War movie we will react to!

Please feel free to suggest other options in the comments for future polls!

NOTE: I have seen We Were Soldiers, so this would only be Sam's first time reaction.

*We received a ton suggestions on the last polls, but we are trying to keep the poll sizes more reasonable. We have noted all suggestions for future polls!

Comments

Tears of the Sun, Act of Valor, Lone Survivor, We Were Soldiers, American Sniper

Justin Guajardo

All of these are great.

Sean McDonough

Had to give this one to Hacksaw Ridge, even though it's not doing to great in the poll. That movie is BRUTAL.

Nick of Time

The Great Escape should be on everyone's war movie list.

Neal Romanek

Yeah, that's a classic.

Neal Romanek

Yep. I think it's one of the best movies, period.

Neal Romanek

Come and see definitely

Matthew Nesvig

Yes! It is on our list :) -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Thank you, Louis! We have a long list and we are so excited to get through them all :) -Sam

TBR Schmitt

We'll try to get to them all! I've definitely heard it is a rough watch. -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Good Morning Vietnam is coming in July! We have both seen Inglorious Bastards, but the rest are on our list :) -Sam

TBR Schmitt

It's dominating the poll! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Added! Thanks, Ian :) -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Both on our list! Thank you for the recommendations, Zach! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

The 1964 Zulu film.

BoystanToytle

1964 or 2013?! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

LOVE M&C.

Arki Kali

Not sure where you can watch that film. It’s not on any streaming service I have. I know it’s a controversial and intense film, and I admit, I’m afraid to watch it. 🥴

Catherine LW

Ditto that! Master & Commander is a masterpiece!

Catherine LW

The Deer Hunter is a must when it comes to war films. Robert De Niro, Christopher Walken, Meryl Streep. Won best film in 1978

Shehab Dawoud

Love the List (I hope you can post them All one by one) and I love all the suggestions. I’m with Zach for Master and Commander and Last of the Mohicans - and with both Ian Marsh’s and Mitchell Smilie’s entire list. I have not seen Come and See but might have to watch it soon on my own. Looking forward to your reactions 😃👍

Louis Pedroza

Part of it is notoriety. I've never even heard of 'Come and See', whereas I suspect a substantial portion of the US population between the ages of, say, 30 and 45 or so saw Glory in school as kids. Plus it has performances from actors we know and love. Hard to compete with that!

Nerd Going Outside

I'm really sad that Come and See is losing this poll. While I don't dislike any of the movies on the poll, I don't see any one of them that can beat Come and See in terms of quality and emotional impact

Isaac Gadberry

Other war movies to consider for the future: Good Morning Vietnam (1987), The Great Escape (1963), Patton (1970), Paths of Glory (1957), The Deer Hunter (1978), The Dirty Dozen (1967), Casualties of War (1989) and Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds (2009)

Mitchell Smilie

Last of the Mohicans! Yes!!!

James Willingham III

Oh wow, it looks like Glory might win this one! That makes me so happy... it's definitely one of the more overlooked films from that decade.

Uncle 'Traveling' Matt

Yay! Full Length should be up tomorrow here as long as there's no issues :) -Sam

TBR Schmitt

The Guns of navarone (1961) and hamburger Hill (1987) are another two great ones 👍

Ian

Master and Commander: Far Side of The World and The Last of The Mohicans!

Zach Greenleaf

Thanks! I bet it won't win a poll, but y'all might wanna give it a watch even if you're not filming a reaction. Kathryn Bigelow is somehow still an underrated director despite winning an Oscar.

Cav

13 Hours!

David Crabtree

0h well that just kicks so much ass, hell yeah. Thanks guys!

FilthTribeFTP

Zulu is quite a good movie

BoystanToytle

You got it! It's on the list, we just tried to downsize the polls a little so there wasn't so much of spread (which clearly isn't really working), but I will make sure it's on the next war or action poll! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

It's not really a war movie (or an action movie), but I'll recommend Zero Dark Thirty again. Y'all had it on a poll months ago and it never came up again.

Cav

Oliver Stone has a ton of great films, Platoon included, that would be worth doing on the channel.

Mike Tocci

Platoon will be on YouTube this Saturday :) -Sam

TBR Schmitt

I think they watched it already and it is coming out soon

Jason Dolan

No Platoon?!

FilthTribeFTP

Need to watch The last samurai with tom cruise and Ken Watanabe!!! Criminally underrated and unknown by common movie goers!!!
