The video game John was playing wasn't Asteroids, it was Missile Command. :)

When this movie was released, word population was only 5.3 billion, so the "3 billion killed" was well more than half of the population. You were comparing it to our current world population.

Back then CGI was best at doing this kind of stuff. That was one of the drawbacks of early CGI is that everything looked metallic or plastic-like.. So something that's pure metal was easy to do. Similar to the ship from Flight of the Navigator.. which btw, there's a film you should do that's a really great film from the 80s. One of my favorite films. Really funny, hilarious and great sci-fi.

I haven’t finished watching yet, but I wanted to mention that John’s foster mother is Vasquez from Aliens.

I have the spiffy T2 dvd with a metal slipcase. It has the director's cut and the theatrical release. But interestingly, the part where Sarah Connor is in therapy watching the tape is cut slightly different than the version you watched, TBR. Otherwise the movies are the same. I wonder why.

Yeah its always good to form your own opinion so I am sure we will see them at some point! Those chase scenes were wild! The risk pays off with the move holding up so well over time

Yeah I am always torn between seeing the theatrical and then the extended or vise versa!

Yeah everyone has their own opinion! I believe I saw the one with Christian Bale and compared to these original two, its doesn't hold up well. I'm sure we will see the full catalog of movies at some point!

Wow that's crazy! We didn't know that going into the movie. Sad to hear of her passing

Terminator 2 Factoid #2: IIRC, at the time of its release, it had the highest budget ever for an American film. (Cameron loves himself a high budget!)

Terminator 2 Factoid #1: The actor playing the cop at the institute vending machine has a real-life identical twin brother who also appears in the scene behind him as the disguised as the T-1000/Cop . Linda Hamilton also has a real-life identical twin sister who appeared in this film as the “real” Sarah in the background at the refinery when Linda played the “fake” Sarah in the foreground. (She also appears in the garage/mirror scene in the Director’s Cut. Unfortunately, Linda’s twin sister died not too long ago.)

Terminator 3 is underrated if you ask me. People were comparing it too much to T2 so it got a bad rep. But as a stand alone movie, it was a very good action movie. It's def worth seeing. The rest of them you can skip. 🤪

I think a few last time i've watched it, it was Director's cut. So now while watching it with you i saw a few bits that looked less obvious without those extended scenes. Like how Arnie learned to smile and showing thumbs up :) And the "i need a vacation" line :)

I wish I could say “I was trying to figure stuff out” but really I was just living up to the standard set by Motley Crue. “Don’t want nothin’ but a good time.” Not that I’m a Motley Crue fan but I never said no to a good party.

Although I’m not a fan of T3, Salvation or Genesis they do have some moments. Just please don’t let it deter you from watching Dark Fate.

If 19 yo you was anything like 19 yo me, you wouldn't have taken any advice from an adult, no matter how good it might of been. My parents and other adults in my life gave me plenty of good advice, but I wanted to "go my own way" and "figure stuff out for myself."

I know the YT comments are full of peeps saying not to watch certain Terminator movies after this, but I think you should watch them all and decide for yourselves which you like and which you don't.
And the helicopter chase scene where it flies under the overpass, that's not a practical effect. A stunt pilot actually flew a helicopter under an overpass. In fact the stunt pilot is the pilot the T-1000 told to "Get out." ...and he flew under the overpass twice.

Indeed. So much I would love to tell 19 year old me. Like: Invest in Apple or Microsoft...eat right and exercise... don’t start Game of Thrones because you’ll feel you wasted your time at the end.

RIP Chadwick Boseman but my money would still be on the T-1000 for CGI battles.

That building is Skynet it goes from a single building to a highly intelligent mainframe capable of making decisions for the planet. That's insanely scary

No surprise that Aliens and T2 are so successful. They’re both James Cameron movies. Hopefully you’ll have James Cameron’s The Abyss should be on your next sci-fy poll.
