Daria told Sean that she was originally planning and looking to make MMA her career before the Tough Enough opportunity came up. She'd actually covered MMA for Maria Menounos on Afterbuzz, who told her she should try out for Tough Enough. As things stand, she's enjoying having freedom and taking things slow. She's keeping every opportunity on the table but really wants to consider things. She said that she is equally interested in the possibilities of wrestling, MMA, and working in an authority figure role.
She said that her Invicta FC role came about from promoter Shannon Knapp following her on social media and approaching her around the news of her WWE departure. She also had already planned on doing the "Daria & Toni Unwrapped" show before her WWE departure, but in a much different way, which is why it came about so quickly. We spoke about the possibility of doing a home renovation show, which she said has become a passion of theirs. In addition, she linked up with Mandy Rose in Las Vegas for a new episode of Damandyz Donuts, and said they have plans to do more together very soon.
She was hoping that she could participate in WWE Raw Underground matches, but had other things going on creatively and personally at the time. Daria recalled that she and Mandy worked with Ronda Rousey, Marina Shafir, Shayna Baszler and Jessamyn Duke when they got signed with WWE, helping them get accustomed to the WWE style. She said that she asked Ronda if they could roll around, and Rousey was happy too, then kicked her ass.
You can see Invicta FC this Friday on CBS Sports this Friday night, and the prelims on Youtube.
