AEW mentioned on Dynamite that "Switchblade" Jay White was injured due to an attack from the Death Riders and out of the Owen Hart Foundation Memorial Tournament. Fightful Select learned that White had sustained a legitimate injury ahead of Dynamite, but that a storyline reason was created to explain it.
Fightful has confirmed the injury and that Jay White is expected to undergo surgery. We've not confirmed what the injury specifically is. The injury has caused some significant creative changes as a result of his removal from the tournament.

You’re acting like he’s injury prone. He was a workhorse in NJPW, had a hell of a run on Collision with BCG originally and he’s out for something he isn’t getting surgery for. People get hurt but that doesn’t mean to write him off
