Update on big potential AEW match

Fightful Select reported recently that Mercedes Mone vs. Athena was in the plans for All Elite Wrestling this year, with it happening "as soon as AEW Dynasty." The following week, the two had an in-ring face off.
Many have suggested the match is a plan for AEW All In Texas, considering Athena's ties to the area. However, we're told there have been other creative suggestions for that show, and that "the two weren't put in the same tournament on accident," referencing the Owen Hart Foundation tourney. While there had been some discussion for the match to happen at AEW Dynasty, we can't confirm that's the plan. However, the two are expected to meet in the coming months.
Last week, Fightful reported that Mercedes and the Renegades had again pitched working together, resulting in Mercedes facing Robyn. We're also told to expect Charlette Renegade back in the fold soon after missing all of 2024 in AEW/ROH.
