I've always found it to be tedious and distracting, so this will probably be the only wall-of-text, I hope. I'm going to keep world-building for a few pages by explaining who Asheena Khatum is, and why she's such a badass (it's basically Genghis Khan and King Geasar of Ling, but with tits). She's going to be the looming big-bad, but she'll also become Mara's idol, since Mara's main motivation will be her desire to surpass Asheena as the greatest warlord in the Battle Lands.

2022-08-16 17:55:02 +0000 UTCNot really. I'm just dumb. But for what it's worth, I imagine the river flows from the volcano and also the Iron City, which is up on a high plateau. The area where they merge is supposed to be a very deep delta, but I don't really know geography that well.

In worldbuilding, one of the first things for map making you'll hear is rivers don't split but merge, and go from mountains to the oceans, sometimes with lakes in between, not from coast to coast. Pretty sure you did that on purpose, exactly to mock that.
