I am in LOVE with this character design, and the funnny thing about it is that I consider this to be accurate. The image we have of Buddha as a cross-legged mendicant is the same shit as showing Jesus Christ on the cross. That was ONE MOMENT in his life. Buddha was a chad. He six feet tall and muscular. He was warrior-caste. His family were Indo-Aryans, the people who invented the chariot and then went all over India and and modern-day Iran. The symbol of Buddhism is a chariot's wheel, also a symbol of the warrior-caste. He was a sarcastic, snippy, obnoxious rich kid who slummed it with poors and he called women 'donkies.' Seriously, Buddha was a HUGE misogynist. He wanted the Sangha to be male-only because he thought bitches would kill the vibe, but his cousin Ananda was a beta-male white-knight, and he begged Buddha to let some girls in. "Ugh, fine Ananda, but the highest woman is still lower than the lowest man," he said.

I hate how Buddha has become a Mickey Mouse. He wasn't a 'nice guy.' He was just a pacifist who promoted wisdom and compassion, but he could be a pill. I love Buddha, but I think Buddhism as a religion is fucking stupid sometimes, honestly. In my opinion.
