Details behind Bianca Belair/Naomi promo

The Bianca Belair/Naomi promo on Smackdown got rave reviews.

The latest element of the Jade Cargill attacker storyline played out on WWE TV on March 7, as Naomi officially revealed herself as the culprit. Bianca Belair and Naomi had an emotional promo that was well received by the audience. It also gained heavy praise from those we heard from in WWE.

Ioannis Fillippides was credited internally on run sheets as the writer on the segment, with TJ Wilson producing it. One longtime WWE employee said they felt like it was the first time Naomi had the opportunity to be highlighted in a promo like that with substance, and that she excelled. There was also heavy praise for Bianca Belair's reaction, and Jade Cargill, in addition to the writing, producing and camera work.

One WWE employee responded privately to a tweet from Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp, specifically echoing how well the camera work was when Jade Cargill arrived. At least a half dozen people Fightful spoke to over the weekend spoke highly of the segment and all involved, from production, writing, to Jade Cargill, Naomi and Bianca Belair.

For those asking, we heard of no issues with Jade Cargill at Smackdown this week.

Amazing segment. The Philly crowd sucked so bad. This could've felt even greater with a better crowd

Did you see the photoshopped pic where they put his face on her body and captioned it with that? Had me on the floor 😂😂

I'm so glad Naomi has been able to stick around long enough to finally get a story like this. I've been a fan of hers since the funkadactyl days and she exceeded my expectations on Friday night. And Bianca just reaffirmed why she's a top star...she really excels in every area of professional wrestling. Huge applause to everyone involved!

Just an unbelievable segment. Goes to show how much untapped potential lies in some of these superstars. Gonna be one of the best this year across any company. Hands down.

My favourite bit about it was the "I did it for" callback to Rikishi, Naomi's father-in-law.
