Update On Ricky Starks-WWE
Added 2025-02-13 17:20:58 +0000 UTCRicky Starks is in WWE.....as Ricky Starks for now.
Starks debuted on WWE TV on the February 11 NXT episode, with the company intentionally avoiding calling him by his name. On this week's episode of the Hump, Sean Ross Sapp noted that the deal came together very quick, but was official and he's a part of the WWE roster.
Internally, Starks is being referred to and listed as "Ricky Starks," but WWE didn't refer to him as such on screen. A source in WWE confirmed a tip that Fightful Select was given that the company often works on sync agreements that allow them to utilize names and other trademarks while a performer is with a company. It's believed in the industry that Starks' deal came together so quickly that they were working on the side of caution.

Excited for Ricky in the NXT men's division. The women have been amazing and he should be a great compliment to the show.

2025-02-13 17:51:51 +0000 UTCI imagine he will be Ricky Starks in WWE. Under the new regime genuinely for the most part get to keep there name look at Ethan Page Giula Shawn Spears Andrade & Stephanie Vaquer as examples over the last. Maybe they will shorting his name like how they changed Pentagon to Penta. I honestly don’t see a drastic name change happening he got released Monday & signed Tuesday I imagine he will just be Ricky Starks in WWE

2025-02-13 17:47:22 +0000 UTCTrademark issues are why McMahn never allowed people to use their real name. Under HHH they are just come to agreement regarding use of the name while under contract.

2025-02-13 17:38:30 +0000 UTCGood for Ricky and it won’t hurt AEW as he hasn’t been on their tv for about a year! AEW shows are pretty good once again and they have more than enough talent, to make it great again.

2025-02-13 17:36:22 +0000 UTCBased on the timing then I think it makes sense, however I still need to know whose gong to become “Drako Knox”

2025-02-13 17:31:24 +0000 UTCI've read that he owns the trademark to his name so that's probably why they didn't use it on screen.

2025-02-13 17:29:54 +0000 UTCSo does this mean that he will get a name change later on or can he keep Ricky Starks as his name?

2025-02-13 17:29:06 +0000 UTCIt's his name....is it really a trademark issue? Would be pretty dumb if he couldn't use his own name.
