Alexa Bliss return came together late, replaced another entrant

Fightful had not reported on the matter until reporting that she'd be at the event Saturday, but despite the snarky comments regarding the accuracy of "dirt sheets" on the Royal Rumble broadcast, PWinsider and Wrestling Observer were accurate in their reporting this week.
Fightful Select has learned that as of the start of Saturday, other participants had no idea that Alexa Bliss would be in the Royal Rumble, and she wasn't at the Friday rehearsals. In fact, originally another person was slated for the spot that Alexa was in.
Shotzi was originally planned for the Royal Rumble, making her first main roster appearance since last year's Royal Rumble. Shotzi missed significant time with a knee injury, and returned to NXT. However, we're told she was just getting reps to prepare for a main roster return.
Those we spoke to didn't hold anything against Alexa Bliss and were happy to see her back. However, there were some that felt bad about how it played out for Shotzi.
We'll have a number of Royal Rumble updates over the next couple of days.

I don't know how much of a factor Shotzi would have been in Rumble match while they at least set up a potential Alexa feud with Liv Morgan. I am happy to hear that Shotzi will be back on the Main Roster soon, I just hope they have big plans for her & will use her well.
