WWE reaction to Netflix live streaming issues

Netflix’s Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight was riddled with buffering and connectivity issues, and became one of the most watched global events of the year. The issues caused natural concerns among wrestling fans about what is in store for January.
When Fightful Select immediately inquired with those in WWE, they said that they’d been assured that these issues would be kept at a minimum. One higher up said that if they were ever doing the type of traffic Mike Tyson and Jake Paul were doing, that would be a good problem to have. Netflix’s live Love is Blind finale also had significant issues.
We’re told at one point when the OVW Wrestlers show was being released and marketed, there was a live show discussed. This would have also helped them test live streaming for wrestling on the platform.

2024-11-17 08:37:39 +0000 UTCNah, that's not how it works. Yesterday it was just good ol' bottleneck phenomenon that happened. WWE will be just fine. Now if Wrestlemania will broadcast live on Netflix, it could generate a traffic that is a bit close to yesterday's traffic. If Netflix's infrastructure can't handle that type of traffic then they have a serious issue on their hands.
