Update on Dustin Rhodes' contract with AEW
Added 2024-10-31 18:21:44 +0000 UTCDustin Rhodes’ contract came up, but he hasn’t necessarily left AEW/ROH as of yet.
Fightful Select reported that Rhodes’ deal with the company was set to expire at the end of September or the start of October. Rhodes has not wrestled for the company since then, despite being ROH Tag Team and Six Man Tag Team Champion.
Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp was able to confirm that negotiations between the two sides has been ongoing, but it was claimed that nothing was done as of yet. Rhodes has wrestled more matches in 2024 than any year he’s had since 2020. He’s on pace to have his busiest in ring year since 2018.
In addition to wrestling, Dustin Rhodes has long helped out with the women’s division in AEW, as well.

More performers understand this is a time to drag negotiations out as they have more options then 6-7 years ago. Even if Kevin Owens does resign, I would not be shocked to wait until he has an official AEW offer to maximized his income.
