Select Answers: Saudi-WWE Deal, Statlander

Welcome to Select Answers, a short feature that provides some of the answers to questions that were posed to Sean Ross Sapp in the most recent Fightful Weekly Q&A Podcast. The show drops every week on Fightful Select for subscribers.

Do you know how much longer WWE contract is with Saudi Arabia for PLE's or is it just permanent at this point.

The current WWE-Saudi Arabia contract runs through 2027, and is a huge money deal for WWE. The deal calls for two shows a year as things stand.

Do the Saudis involved with the WWE deal have creative input or otherwise influence on the PLE cards for the Saudi events? Or was the big giant belt truly from the minds of WWE creative?

I've never heard of them having any input into creative decisions. However there's definitely some influence. Undertaker's last in-ring "match," Shawn Michaels returning, Tyson Fury wrestling and the like. They've also made some pretty interesting suggestions, including wanting Yokozuna for Greatest Royal Rumble. I mean, I get it. I want Yokozuna back, too.

Why didn't they just turn Stokely face along with Stat instead of breaking up the act? Him trying to out heavy Kamille would have been fun.

I've just been told that the two are not expected to work with one another now or any time soon. I wasn't given much detail beyond that.

Frank Mortis brokered the deal behind the scenes.

I know nothing, but I think something has to have happened recently for such an abrupt change for Stokely/Stat. Normally, we would get a couple segments to deliver the split. Personality differences?
