Select Answers: AEW-Fox, Miro, Shane McMahon

Welcome to Select Answers, a short feature that provides some of the answers to questions that were posed to Sean Ross Sapp in the most recent Fightful Weekly Q&A Podcast. The show drops every week on Fightful Select for subscribers.

What's up with Miro's release?

I've not heard anything about it being granted so far. The two sides are rarely on the same side creatively. His deal runs until the spring of 2026, and if there is an injury time clause in it, they can extend it way past that.

What do you think of the Swerve comments regarding Fox? Intentionally leaked or something he maybe wishes he could take back?

For those that didn't see, Swerve was on camera telling a friend that AEW was going to Fox. It wasn't intentional, and I won't speak for him, but there were definitely people in AEW that wished that didn't get out. From what I was told, he didn't know a camera that would be vlogging was right there.

Any more news on Shane? The Vince doc showed me he loves the business, so I’m interested if he’s still legitimately pursuing AEW.

He just ran into Mercedes and Young Bucks by chance at airports, but his meeting with Tony Khan was a planned one. He has not been backstage at any AEW shows that we've heard about and wasn't at Grand Slam.

Comments

Given the info that Rampage doesn’t appear to be a part of the picture in the new deal, I would suspect that the Fox show will be basically an upgraded Rampage type of show. I can’t see AEW or Fox thinking another 2 hour live traveling show is a good idea, so it would make sense for it to be a pre-taped show or a studio show. If they could just get a better time-slot than that 10pm Friday spot, I think it would be a lot more successful.

I wonder if there's going to be a separate press release on a different day for the FOX deal or if it'll be announced with the WBD deal.
