Select Answers: AJ Styles, WWE TV Deals, Raw Runtime, Logan Paul

Welcome to Select Answers, a short feature that provides some of the answers to questions that were posed to Sean Ross Sapp in the most recent Fightful Weekly Q&A Podcast. The show drops every week on Fightful Select for subscribers.

Could you do some comprehensive breakdown of WWEs media deals. Basically outline length of contracts for all the WWE library and brands plus where and when episodes show up after they air for each brand. I heard something about Hulu not having episodes next day anymore for smackdown so I’m assuming that would just got to Peacock and I’m particularly interested in how Netflix will handle episodes after they air.

Hulu airs Raw next day until the end of the year, then Netflix takes over.

Raw on Netflix is a 10-year deal. Netflix has the ability to get out of the deal after five years, or extend it another ten years.

Smackown on USA and NXT on CW are five year deals until the Fall of 2029.

How far out in advance does WWE and TNA book storylines, just wondering if any differences make it challenging to share wrestlers.

Their individual stories are a case by case basis. NXT does clue TNA in to some talent they'd like to use, and hopefully protect. However, we haven't heard much as to how that affects their TNA booking if at all.

So is the 2hrs for the rest of 2024 for Raw temporary and goes back to 3hrs when the Netflix deal starts?

WWE has not confirmed the WWE Raw run time in 2025 as of yet. We did ask last Monday when the Raw news emerged. They were quick to confirm Smackdown would remain at 2 hours, but didn't comment on Raw.

Has there been anything from WWE regarding the multiple lawsuits Logan Paul is in?

We've not been given a comment any time we've ever asked about this. They don't comment on lawsuits they're involved in, so it's not a surprise to see them pass on this as well.

Any update on AJ Styles?

AJ Styles is healthy and just isn't being used on WWE TV. He was on the WWE overseas tour, but wasn't featured on television. He worked five straight nights in world title matches against Cody Rhodes. He also worked last month's Japan tour in world title matches.
