FREE POST: MCMG to WWE

We finally have some clarity on Motor City Machine Guns.

Earlier this week, Pro Wrestling Nexus had reported that Motor City Machine Guns' Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin were headed to WWE. Tonight, WWE sources have claimed to Fightful that the duo are officially signed.

Questions have swirled about their status' for months, but details were few and far between, outside of AEW sources indicating months ago that the duo hadn't been signed and weren't planned for the company. There were some creative pitches there, but they didn't end up happening.

Already confirmed they keeping the name, just not the theme

Solid matches in AEW? Mate they had one trios match in 2022

Jayson Major

They saw the state of the AEW tag team division with that gauntlet and immediately put pen to paper.

Justin Hesse

They made a name for themselves in TNA had some solid matches in ROH, and will probably have some memorable moments in WWE. They would have jobbed to The Bucks and other tag teams in AEW.

Justin Cantu

Strange that you would know what’s perfect for them. I’d figure they would know what would be perfect for them.

Cody Berntsen

Curious can they be called Motor City Machine Guns Karl Anderson has never been able to use Machine Gun Karl Anderson

Cody-Wan Kenobi

Vanquer said she never was going to consider aew

Flameducky

But no one made them sign that deal. If they’re happy just be happy for them.

After being laughed at for losing out on Ospreay, Okada, & Mercedes early this year… WWE are finishing strong with Fatu, Giulia, Vaquer, MCMG, & potentially the Lucha Bros

Stephen Bradley

It feels like after losing out on some big free agent this year like Osprey Purrazo Ricochet Okada & Mercedes WWE said enough. Hunter & Shawn decided where signing some big free agents. Without naming every big free agent signing WWE had here are some of them In 2024 WWE has signed Andrade Naomi Jacob Fatu & Giula & then within the last months they’ve signed Vaquer MCMG Delta & The Lucha Bros. It’s been a competitive year for free agents between both companies & you love to see it

Matt Hennessy

There where reports back in July saying WWE offered then more money then AEW did. Similar to the Stephanie Vaquer situation

Matt Hennessy

Great attitude to have men having two healthy that wrestlers can sign with is good for the industry

Matt Hennessy

Great news they deserve to be in WWE, I have enjoyed their runs in TNA as single stars and a tag team will be good for the young teams

David Greaves

Honestly right now looking at both companies tag division WWE division I would say is stronger. 3 year ago I would of wanted AEW to sign but now I wanted & am glad WWE signed them. As outside the Bucks FTR & GYV there aren’t many teams I want to see them face in AEW. With WWE you got Fraxiom New Day DIY Creed Brothers Lucia Bros (when they come in) LWO( either version) Viking Raiders) New Catch Republic Judgement Day LDFUSOs ( When they come back together)

Matt Hennessy

If their goal was purely to have banger matches, then yes. But if their goals go beyond in-ring to also coaching the next gen, then WWE/NXT will be a perfect fit for them. They still get to show out and hopefully have a long future within the WWE system. They made the right choice for them and ultimately, that's all that matters.

CW NXT premiere on October 1st in Chicago can’t come soon enough!!! MCMG will be getting a huge ovation

Damian Andrews

MCMG and Lucha Bros will give the tag division the boost it needs. Great signing.

The Mayor Pete

Yeah its not like they coulda did a main roster run then coached on nxt. Def not right lol

Charles Lee Ray

Well considering they both have expressed interest in being wrestling coaches after they retire, it only makes sense to send them to NXT. Plus they wanted to, and Alex has literally devoted his life to mentoring new wrestlers so he probably jumped at the chance to be in NXT.

Abby Branch

Good for em. They deserve the world. Never really felt like a AEW fit at this point in their careers. They’ll be so happy and valued as coaches within WWE. It’s the best move they could have made at this moment in their careers.

Andrew Bates

Yeah, it's a bummer. Hopefully they're happy though and it works out for them.

Chad McLaughlin

Yes 2 40 year Olds on a developmental show

Charles Lee Ray

I’ve seen people speculate they were interested in the coaching aspect of NXT but I’m not sure if that was the true selling point.
