Confirmed: Cedric Alexander re-signs with WWE
Added 2024-09-07 17:19:24 +0000 UTCAnother WWE Superstar will be sticking around for a number of years.
Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp confirmed that Cedric Alexander re-signed with WWE earlier this year. We’re told that the deal is multi-year in length like many others. Alexander joins a number of WWE talent that re-signed in 2024. MVP had noted recently that he believed Cedric re-signed with WWE.
During his time in WWE, Cedric has become Cruiserweight, Raw Tag Team and 24/7 Champion, in addition to winning a Slammy Award. Alexander was a member of the very popular Hurt Business stable.
This year, Cedric competed in the WWE Speed tournament and was set to team with Ashante Thee Adonis. However, after vignettes of the two aired, both ended up popping back up in NXT. Alexander hasn’t wrestled since the end of July.

2024-09-08 08:28:21 +0000 UTCI mean. I didn’t exactly expect him to go to AEW seeing as how Tony treated Swole.

2024-09-07 20:38:27 +0000 UTCValid point you make and I agree if he is happy cool but as a fan of him it just sucks seeing him wasting his career when he could be killing it in any other company.

2024-09-07 19:28:42 +0000 UTCI had to think for a second who Cedric Alexander was as they never use him.

2024-09-07 19:20:18 +0000 UTCHeres a novel concept... Maybe he's happy there? 🤷🏻♂️ dont tell someone what to do with their career that aint your business.

2024-09-07 19:00:04 +0000 UTCCould also be he's content, making good money and enjoying family life. But you go ahead and judge

2024-09-07 18:58:42 +0000 UTCI think the hurt business still has value had the faction got an extended run it could of got some younger talent over. I’d be up for it happening in AEW & it being used to get one of the younger guys over. MVP a solid manager Lashey a good wrestler & Shelton Benjamin is solid in ring. I actually think it would help Ricochet great wrestler not good on the mic MVP could be his mouth piece

2024-09-07 18:57:06 +0000 UTCrespectfully the hurt business thing is honestly played out, it was good for the time we had it and ended prematurely but in 2024 where the upside, lashley shelton mvp are all 50 years old, are we really bout to push old timers over the young guys that need a chance

2024-09-07 18:44:15 +0000 UTCDude why are you being hostile regardless of who’s right or wrong wrestlers are entitled to give criticism when they leave a company it’s always been that way saying Swole shouldn’t criticise is dumb. It’s how things work man. Happened when wrestlers left WCW happened when they left WWE & happens when they leave AEW. I’m a wrestling fan I don’t let three letters define my enjoyment of it I enjoy what Tony does with AEW product in the same way I enjoy what Triple H does with WWE product no need to be weird or tribalstic friend. Two sides to every story but once the Swole TK situation happened & that bridge was burnt I didn’t see Cedric going. I think he should of left for what it’s worth but he ain’t going to AEW & the smaller can’t pay him the type of money WWE or AEW can. So I get why he stayed he’s on NXT tv every week & I can seen him being used as a wrestler & a player coach

2024-09-07 18:26:14 +0000 UTCI know what happened, unlike you I follow things, should Tony have done that no. Should she have gone on some podcast and said what she said, no. They were both wrong, but she's actually more wrong than Tony, she could've talked to man privately one on one and voiced any concerns she had. Tony not wrong for being angry but he wrong for saying what he said, should've said no comment

2024-09-07 18:15:04 +0000 UTCWhen I say they buried Big Swole when she left AEW she was very critical & Tony Khan responds by saying he didn’t she was a very good wrestler it happened back in 2022
Matt Hennessy
2024-09-07 18:06:02 +0000 UTCCedric ain't been used in 3 months, lol. Your feeling is wrong
Adrian Carpenter
2024-09-07 17:59:13 +0000 UTCThey didn't bury Big Swole at all. She was on ppv multiple times, had multiple titles matches. She has chromes disease and when the disease flares up she can't wrestle, so how you gonna push someone who has a disease that can put them out at any moment, how's that "burying " someone, get the facts before you say dumb stuff
Adrian Carpenter
2024-09-07 17:56:49 +0000 UTCHe’s in a tough situation. He can’t go to AEW to reform the Hurt Business TK buried his wife when she left there two years. The other companies outside of AEW can’t pay Cedric what WWE or AEW could offer. They moved him to NXT & I get the feeling Cedric Alexander is going to be used in a similar way to how Shawn Spears is used in NXT as an upper mid card wrestler in NXT & as a couch behind the scenes
Matt Hennessy
2024-09-07 17:52:00 +0000 UTCEvery company tries to sign as much talent as they can AEW do talent hoarding with wrestlers they use as fodder WWE does the same both are guilty of it WCW did it back in the day. I don’t like VKM & thank god his dumb ass is gone from WWE but all companies do this
Matt Hennessy
2024-09-07 17:49:34 +0000 UTCThey don’t really do budget cuts anymore unless it’s NXT talent they’ve let a lot of wrestlers contracts expire & choose not to renew them like Dijak & Reggie . If Tony hadn’t buried his wife two years ago when she left AEW he could of gone there to reform the Hurt Business. WWE the only place he can get paid with AEW of the table they have him working in NXT right now I could see WWE using him in a role similar to Shawn Spears where he’s a wrestler/coach in NXT
Matt Hennessy
2024-09-07 17:46:45 +0000 UTCI think wwe is getting up to some vkm things again and just hoarding all the talent even if they see them as nothing more than fodder

2024-09-07 17:41:14 +0000 UTCIdk for sure since I don't know the guy but him taking this deal might show he has no drive in making himself a success story. He will wallow in catering and be a jobber to whoever they need him to take an L to. I don't think he would go to aew because his gf had a poor time but this guy could easily have gone anywhere and made a name for himself because as it is now he will ride out his deal till tko needs to save some money and he'll most likely be first on that chopping block.
Gammer S
2024-09-07 17:39:51 +0000 UTCAfter what happened with AEW and Big Swole, I wouldn't entertain the thought of going over there. We can guess why he opted to re-sign but what really matters is if he's happy being there then I'm happy for him.
Josh Savory
2024-09-07 17:39:15 +0000 UTCI mean, the guy absolutely needs a change of scenery. I'm just saying the only plausible explanation is that he thinks the money is better.
Ryan Tardiff
2024-09-07 17:35:55 +0000 UTCGood for him surprised he stayed thought he follow Lashey MVP & Shelton Benjamin to AEW to reform Hurt Business
Matt Hennessy
2024-09-07 17:35:29 +0000 UTCThat's bs, he could've left with MVP and Lashley and got money, he's gonna regret this, especially when MVP and Lashley resurfaces
Adrian Carpenter
2024-09-07 17:34:39 +0000 UTCWHY, THEY DON'T DO ANYTHING WITH YOU
Adrian Carpenter
2024-09-07 17:31:49 +0000 UTCMaybe the pinacle of guys who'd be better off just signing with somebody like TNA or MLW at this point. But wth, I'm sure the money is good
