Willow Notes

Shirleigh (@ShirleighShirlz) represented Fightful and Fightful Select as a correspondent at AEW All In Media availability day in London and had the opportunity to talk with the former TBS Champion Willow Nightingale before the massive event at Wembley Stadium.

Shirleigh began the interview by mentioning that this was Willow’s first visit to the United Kingdom. Willow told Shirleigh that her first match in Europe emanated from Cardiff. [On August 28th at the AEW Dynamite and Collision Taping]

When asked how the visit was going, Willow said, “The one thing that I hear a lot from my fellow Americans is maybe a few unfavorable things about your guys' food.” Willow noted that she is a vegetarian and has had a great time. Willow said when she picked something up from the market. The food label will say it’s suitable for vegetarians. Willow said it has been “Easy peasy” and that she is doing great with the food.

Willow mentioned that some of her family was there and that she was spending time with them. She added, “I’m good all around.”

Shirleigh asked Willow if she knew what the word “Numpty” meant. Willow told Shirleigh didn’t but asked for a hint. Shirleigh said, “Kris Statlander would be one.” Willow then remarked, “ It’s gotta be a real idiot, right?” Shirleigh confirmed that is what it meant,

They would make a game out of it. Shirleigh would list some names of people and ask if they were a numpty or not. Shirleigh mentioned Kris Statlander, Stokely Hathaway, Kyle O’Reilly, Mariah May, Mercedes Moné, and MJF.

She said Statlander was “absolutely numpty” and said Stokely “was numpty times a million.” Willow said Mariah May is not numpty but added, “she is a little smart.” Regarding Kyle O’Reilly said, “Not at all. He's a little silly goofy guy, but he's no numpty.”

When Willow was asked about Toni Storm and Mercedes Moné, she said she wouldn’t call Toni Storm numpty either.” Willow added that Toni was blindsided and what happened to her was unfair. Willow said I wouldn't call her numpty either, and she sympathizes with Toni. When asked about Mercedes Moné, Willow said, “I wouldn't call her a numpty either. She is a very smart businesswoman. Very well educated in that professional wrestling ring. Not a numpty.”

She said MJF is a numpty and added that he is not doing too good for Long Island. Showing the worst of what Long Islanders can be.

The topic of MJF’s Patriotic Gear came up and was about patriotism. Willow said, “America, it's where I grew up, it's where I was raised, made me the person I am. There are a lot of privileges that I have growing up and living there, but you know, just like any place in the world, nowhere's perfect. So there's, you know, good and bad to it, but I'm not showing up to work in my red, white, and blue every day.”
