Chad Gable's WWE contract set to expire soon

A heavily featured talent sees their WWE contract possibly expire next week.

On Wednesday, word within the wrestling industry was that Chad Gable’s WWE contract is set to expire late next week, and that no deal has been reached as of now. If Gable reaches free agency, he’s expected to get interest from across the industry. WWE has been interested in re-signing him, we’re told.  The deal is set to expire next Friday, based on information we were given.

We've already heard there will be a strong push from talent in various outside companies to vouch for him to be signed, when we asked about the possibilities outside WWE.

The 38-year old Gable has been featured all over WWE TV recently, and has been the leader of Alpha Academy as he undergoes a heel turn. He’s also been a primary name in the Intercontinental Title scene dating back months. He’s a three-time WWE Tag Team Champion with various partners.

Immediately upon hearing the news, there were also MMA companies that Fightful spoke with that indicated they’d be interested in booking him if the opportunity provided itself.

Are you fishing for a cheese plate or something?

I honestly wonder if he was a double agent the level of incompetence on display doesn’t just happen.

WR

i hope chad tests the market and gets every penny he can

WWE in this new TRIPLE H ERA is all about keeping things secret and close to the vest. So, that anyone from the likes of @Fightful , @PWinsiderTV , or even @F4WOnlinetv can't truly known if what their "inside sources" are telling them is true or not. I mean if Triple H ripping the likes of Fightful, and others like them a new one at the Backlash media scrum wasn't a big enough clue that he doesn't care for them, and will keep things like contract resigning's, and such secret and close to the vest, then I don't what won't tell or clue you in on, that this a NEW ERA in WWE, and that the Vince Era is dead and buried.

WR

WWE staring down $8-10M of annual deals coming up over the next 10 days.

Trevor D.

Aren’t these selective leaks for WWE to set up W’s? With as much as they’re pushing him would be surprised if not re-signed

Devin Axtman

he has been book like loser. Don’t think be big loss wwe at all

Chris Spires

He been

Chris Spires

He’s not leaving WWE lmaooo he just turned heel

Waltrezel

That's a no brainer pick up for AEW if he becomes available. Either way he's gonna be making some nice coin on this next contract.

Insomnia Inc

I don’t care about much in Wrestling these days but please give me Chad Gable in the G1

Ben Sherman

Can't believe he's 38.

Excellence of Flexecution

It’s nuts how last minute some of the deals have been to get done. I see Chad staying with WWE as he’s clearly being set up to dethrone Sami & feud with Otis

Matt Hennessy

You can tell they're literally playing catch up now, that other guy was really bad at his job.

Laquita Momon

I hope they pay him damn good money, he's in the middle of a great story right now and should be IC champ next.

Stew Sizer

They recently fired the guy who was a reason why they've been cutting it so close with these contracts.

Laquita Momon

He should've been Kurt Angle's successor, but instead they saw the immense talent in him and went "he short name him short" and then started the whole(admittedly fun to do) shoosh please thank youuuuuuuuuu gimmick.

CSDX

Or the talent waiting so the spectre of AEW drives the negotiation price up

Matt Rentner

That’s crazy

Stephen Bradley

Waiting until the last minute to sign these ppl is not great

Brad and Britt

yes

Fightful Select

Did the previous talent relations eat crayons before drawing up contracts with said crayons?

BSK

Chad a goat they should keep him under lock

Pairy

Well, Otis making his turn on Monday. lol

Edwin

The people who were fired might not have realized their “relations” also meant re-signing talent…?

Manton

Why are WWE letting contracts go this close to the wire? Is it a deliberate strategy?

Kieran Smith

WHAT

Suhail Barekzai

Jesus this is getting wild, how are these contracts running so low

On the Tip of Your Tongue

God they’re getting bad about letting contracts run this close

Justmask
