Cock Shock: Wendy . . . And Some Ranting

I'm really frustrated with it for some reason, and I'm just going to drop it and focus on really easy quick projects, like this 'cock shock' image which is something my Knights have voted on. I made this in about a tenth of the time it takes to make a comic page, and without any of the frustration. I could make ten of these for each shitty comic page that doesn't even look good. When I come back to F3L, no more comics. Just one-panel images.
I'm still making comics though. I've been working on a Mark comic that I've been enjoying. It's just taking for fucking ever. I started it at the beginning of this month and I've only gotten two panels done. A comic isn't just drawing a 3-5 little pictures. It's drawing 3-5 little pictures that flow well, match, and tell a story in a coherent way. Just laying out a comic and choosing where the text bubbles go has become a fucking nightmare. I sketch something, make the text, then realize that the text covers half the image. If I do it the other way, and write the text out first, the drawing becomes extremely awkward and unfun because I'm constantly bending my hand around the bubbles.
Sorry about the ranting, but I don't know where else to get it out. I also think it's important for you all to understand how frustrating and long comics take me, so if I begin to refuse making them, or if they just stop coming out, you know why. I keep getting questions on Tumblr about the Dragonborn shit, and I've just started ignoring them. Everyone seems to think that I just spent fifteen minutes a day working on it, I'd get a page out each week. No. Fifteen minutes a day means I get a page out once every three to five weeks, and that's fifteen minutes that I'd rather spend working on something I enjoy.
Point is, I'm taking a break from F3L, at least the comic component. For the next few weeks my polls will focus on whatever fun thing I think of at the moment. That way I'll stay interested. These things will be random. I know I'm losing a few patrons because of that, but it's gotta happen. I don't blame those of you who are dropping.
Finally, each of the three 'cock shock' images I'm making are going to get a brief caption. I've already got the ones for Ashi and 2B figured out, but I'm still working on Wendy's. My thought is mostly pun related.

2017-04-29 13:07:30 +0000 UTCi thought we already had this comic rant? comic's often hard shit for a lot a people, if you can tell the same story using captioned single or dual pictures why not it's easier on you and you did the story faster. That only looks like the benefits out way the negatives.

I think you should do what you enjoy, and what allows you to produce art. I don't pay into your Patreon for the witty (slutty) bants from the characters, or the technically perfectionist alignment of your speech bubbles. I'm here for the images on my screen that make me think "Dayum, that's hot AND it's nothing I would have imagined by myself." You do that for me, right now, as things stand, and I am a very satisfied customer. As far as F3L goes, I see no reason for it to be something complicated or meticulous. One image of the two characters squaring off in an aggressive manner, one image of the triumphant character taking their reward out of the hide of the defeated, that's all I'd need. If that's too complex, fuck it, just give me one image of Wonder Woman dildo'ing the bejeezus out of Power Girl. I thought about saying "Well, you could just add the dialogue in the description like a lot of people do on HF" but even then, the bit you added for Wendy doesn't do much for me. I got it all from the image, a totally unardorned piece of art for which I can imagine several pieces of dialogue, and multiple situations of varying emotion. THAT'S GOOD SHIT! As far as I'm concerned, the difference is not between "Mark suffers but brings us this fabulous stuff" and "Mark spins twenty images out a month but eeehhh". It's "Mark has a great time doing this great art" or "Leave the motherfucker alone, people, he's doing his thing!" Whatever keeps you drawing, whatever keeps me giving you money each month, that's what I'm in favor of. God fuckin' speed!
2017-04-29 08:18:20 +0000 UTCMaybe, yeah. I do find myself getting bored drawing the same two characters over-and-over again though. I really thing that whatever I do, it's going to lean towards one-panel scenes with all of the 'story' being delivered in one chunk of exposition.
