Becky Lynch contract update with WWE
Added 2024-05-11 20:52:45 +0000 UTCThe Man is the World Champion, but one without a deal in WWE for much longer.
Last year, Fightful Select reported that Becky Lynch's contract is up in June 2024. Since then, much has been made about her future, in addition to her husband, Seth Rollins. Fightful revealed recently that Rollins has a new, big money, multi-year contract that he's signed. However, Becky Lynch does not.
Fightful Select's Sean Ross Sapp has confirmed that Lynch is still on her previous contract, has not signed a new deal, despite being Women's World Champion. There have been ongoing conversations regarding a new deal. However, as things stand, Becky Lynch's contract with WWE is up in roughly three weeks.
As of now, Becky Lynch is scheduled to defend the Women's World Title at WWE King and Queen of the Ring against Liv Morgan just before her contract is set to expire.
We'll work to continue to update you as we get information.

TK is a massive fan of Becky, I know he is happy to back the brinks truck up for her. Give Becky a TON of leverage in these negotiations. I ultimately think she stays, but makes WWE pay big money for it.

2024-05-12 13:47:18 +0000 UTCIf Seth didn't resign then I'd say this is a bigger deal but because he's already signed and more than anything because of their daughter I just can't see her going anywhere at all. I don't think they let her leave, but I suppose there's always a chance of something happening. I mean if they're far apart and they won't budge to meet what she wants? It could be an issue. If there wasn't a child involved I'd say there might be a little bit bigger of a chance for AEW to get her, but in the end she for sure staya put.

2024-05-12 04:55:33 +0000 UTCI can possible see her extending the deal until summer slam if cant come to a deal right now. I believe becky will resign with WWE. her husband resigned and they have a kid so she is not going anywhere. she is going to put over liv morgan and fued with damage control

2024-05-12 00:44:08 +0000 UTCBecky Lynch deserves it all!!!! She’s a work horse, reliable, and most importantly a huge draw!

2024-05-12 00:23:36 +0000 UTCShe makes 3 million a year now. Thats more than Mercedes. Seth just resigned so she will soon

2024-05-12 00:17:19 +0000 UTCThe vast majority of cable networks are owned by either NBCUniversal who are WWE’s longest running broadcast partner, or by Disney who by all accounts very much want to be in business with WWE. Paramount is not an option as they are trying to make their channel appear to be “prestige” and wrestling, regardless of company, would damage that image. Fox won’t pick AEW up, seeing as they were unsatisfied with the ad money they got off WWE and AEW is worse in that regard. I just don’t see who’s left, especially without the one drawing card they had in the past. Maybe Tony could get his dad to buy a station?
WR
2024-05-11 23:24:48 +0000 UTCYou're right. If she does let her WWE contract expire, she'll take Tony Khan's offer to WWE and say "match it or I'm signing with them" forcing WWE to give her what she wants.

2024-05-11 23:14:27 +0000 UTCTKO is known to play hard ball and has given WWE a tight budget (hence why they missed out on Osprey, Okada and Mone). Becky has leverage and with a proven competitor willing to spend, Becky is smart to hold out until she gets the deal she knows she can get from the other side. Even if Becky is loyal to WWE and isn’t interested with n going to AEW, she can transition her career elsewhere and do well and WWE will still always be interested.

2024-05-11 23:07:53 +0000 UTC$10 mill a year TK, if that bum Brandon Scheref can get that much doing nothing for the Jags than big time Becks is worth it for AEW.
Chris Kessler
2024-05-11 23:02:57 +0000 UTCI'll bet you anything you want that aew gets a new deal somewhere, even if its not Warner Brothers/Max, and not one episode of dynamite will be missed

2024-05-11 22:21:06 +0000 UTCWBD just promoted their streaming service on Smackdown, and are currently trying to cut costs by literally any means necessary. With how consolidated the current media landscape is, there is zero guarantee anywhere else would offer AEW a deal either since most remaining networks are part of larger conglomerates that are already doing business with WWE.

2024-05-11 22:09:00 +0000 UTCFunny people are saying AEW, like she doesn't have a young kid and might want some time away just being a mom. Hope she gets all the money though, damn near carried the company on her back

2024-05-11 22:08:45 +0000 UTCShe ain't going anywhere

2024-05-11 21:56:00 +0000 UTC3 weeks is cutting it CLOSE. If Seth wasn’t already in tow I’d probably be a little more concerned, hoping she’s using this timing as leverage. They can’t afford to lose her.

2024-05-11 21:30:40 +0000 UTCThey value Becky more then Mercedes. Mercedes wanted to paid on the same level as Becky Lynch & WWE said no. Becky a proven ratings draw
Matt Hennessy
2024-05-11 21:20:28 +0000 UTCConsidering Seth signed a new deal I don’t see Becky leaving. Becky Lynch is likely going to be the highest paid woman in history when she signs the new deal. I can see her taking time of after Night of Champions as I’m guessing she’s put Liv Morgan over. If Seth Rollins Finn Balor & Drew McIntyre all got big money deals I expect the same for Becky she’s made it clear in multiple interviews she wants to stay with WWE plus I can’t imagine them given her the World Title if they thought she was leaving especially this close to the contract expiring
Matt Hennessy
2024-05-11 21:18:43 +0000 UTCTK would sell the jags to get her but almost her entire career was with WWE. She’ll stay and probably get the biggest $ deal in the history of women’s wrestling
Nick O’Shea
2024-05-11 21:14:39 +0000 UTCFirstly they will get there new TV deal this year, secondly AEW could make no money and still survive as long as Tony Khan wants it to. Tv ratings for all wrestling have fallen due to cord cutting and sports.

2024-05-11 21:13:26 +0000 UTCTheir life in WWE together works too much logistically, I can’t imagine Becky wanting to be in AEW. I’m sure a deal is coming, she’s just (rightfully) doing everything she can to maximize the dollar amount.
Levent
2024-05-11 21:12:55 +0000 UTCNowhere else can afford her. AEW doesn’t have a revenue stream past December of this year, and none of their previous big free agent signings this year moved the needle (ratings actually went down).
WR
2024-05-11 21:09:32 +0000 UTCI'm genuinely surprised they haven't re-signed her yet. She deserves every penny she's asking for. I feel like WWE will eventually give her what she wants. There's absolutely no way they let her go knowing AEW can give her what she wants.

2024-05-11 21:08:05 +0000 UTCIf I were here, I'd push for a major money deal. She won't leave WWE, but there's another option that'll offer her a great deal.

2024-05-11 21:08:00 +0000 UTCIf they aren’t giving her comparable money to the men she should go to free agency to drive her price up.

2024-05-11 21:05:07 +0000 UTCMost likely scenario: she gets a new contract A possible scenario: let’s contract expire and does a different deal to appear here and there. A scenario not likely but could: signs with AEW (I don’t think this would happen but anything is possible)

2024-05-11 21:04:49 +0000 UTCCompared to previous WWE female contracts yes, not compared to men’s contracts.

2024-05-11 21:03:50 +0000 UTCUmm they gave Charlotte big money?
Collin Ingram
2024-05-11 21:02:50 +0000 UTCAlways thought they would drag there feet with the woman’s contracts. They don’t want to give the woman big contracts eg. Mercedes.
Francis
2024-05-11 21:01:58 +0000 UTCShe best get that bag, shocking its taking so long

2024-05-11 21:01:49 +0000 UTCWhat?

2024-05-11 21:00:30 +0000 UTCI doubt they won’t get a new deal done but that’s pretty shocking. Lock up The Man, will ya?
