The Future, ADVISE WANTED!

So I've really enjoyed making Dizzy the Star-Scout comics, and I'm glad I took this month off to get that all out of my system. I've got one more comic with Dizzy coming out at the end of the month, but I'm not sure what I want to do after that, once I start going back to doing paid commissions and having less time for myself.

As much as I enjoy the look and feel of Dizzy, I just don't dig sci-fi, even with heavy fantasy elements. I prefer a world with lots of walking, dragons, and clockwork technology. I prefer demons and magic to aliens and starships. I've got an endless suply of material for Dizzy, and I did write out a pretty big synopsis of where I could go with her in the future, but I don't think I have the personal interest to keep it going.

The thing that I DID learn is that I want a female protagonist. Mark's been fun, but there are certain jokes that just require a female lead. Furthermore, I really want to keep the dichotomy of Dizzy and Lucky going, with a hypersexual female lead, and a submissive friend-zoned cuck who follows her around and never gets any. I think that dichomoty is like . . . my fetish or somehing . . . whatever, I just want that to be the main thing.

So, where do I go from here?

My first option is one the right of the image. Although I HATE HATE HATE developing stories and long plotlines, I COULD expland on Cadence, and have her graduate from being a Cleric to being a Paladin, making her a warrior with holy magic. I'll also make her aware that she is a vessel of Li Ban, and that her mother is evil. That way I can do the classic princess versus evil-queen thing. If I go this route, Mark will become a sort of reoccuring side-character, like Cadence's favorite fuck-buddy who she only sees once in a while. Her real sidekick would be Key the Thief, who would fulfill the role of the submissive hapless cuck.

The second option (and frankly the one the I might got with just because it's so much simpler) I to start fresh with a new character who is everything I want. Simple. Generic. No background. No story. No plot. No nothing. I hate all that shit. She'd be Scotia the Swordswoman. I hard drinking, hard fucking, hard fighting mercenary and bounty-hunter. She's just a bisexual badass bitch with a sword. Basically a female version of Mark, but with less baggage. Her cuck sidekick would be a cute goblin boy named Dunter or soemthing, who follows her around and tries to 'squire' for her even though she doesn't need his help. With Scotia I could start doing generic D&D jokes again, and I can avoid developing a backstory or continutiy for awhile.

Thoughts?

Well stereotypes are still fun depending on what you "add" to them in either personality or a less used race (as i said a female dwarf could be good especially as you dont use them much shortstacks are sexy)

Boring is kind of my thing though. I don't like making a character into anything other than a pure stereotype, like a warrior, or a swordsman. One of my biggest peeves about RPGs these days is when they try to do something 'original' by making a class called a 'Soulreaper' or a 'Pathfinder' or some dumb shit, when they're really just rogues and warriors by other names. I'm probably going to stick with Mark, who is a half-dwarf.

I'll never finish snow white, but the one-shot idea is really good. I just want some sort of signature thing (like a character) connecting all my comics.

I know you're probably not in the mindset for it...But how about finishing snow white? Or perhaps doing one shot , one page, joke comics, with random characters? Preferably hardcore, or filled with dirty talk, or both...

If you truly just wish to do sexual comedy through artwork than you'll have a third option of just creating as the jokes come to you detaching yourself from the characters and focus solely on the joke allowing the characters needed to support the joke as it happens. You have already done this before for Marky the barbarian in the comic with the wormwood paint, remember the hot legionaires? No names, no background, they fit the joke perfectly and you moved on from there, no fuss, no background mess. Does the joke require a handsome male elf cuck? Then create that character for the joke and be done with him after, the joke require a character from 17 comics ago because of hair colour or breast size, then recycle the character for the purpose of the joke and ditch the bitch like a certain barbarian once he's had his fun. You have the comedic talent for so much sexual material that I really want to see come to life man, give it a shot and if you feel truly liberated by shedding excess for the sake of comedy...do so, as always I'll support you.

SorrowBorn

Would definitely prefer Candice stay with mark However to be perfectly honest the Swordswoman seems rather boring any chance for a different "class"? (or other race might make her more fun/interesting say female dwarf?)

Verixa Okblek

Although I honestly don't see why you hate developing stories and plot. They are what drives characters onward and their need to adventure.

ArdenW

Plus, that Paladin Cadence there just looks boss! I've been waiting to see more of her!

ArdenW

You should do what you enjoy and whatever idea excites you the most, dude. These are your ideas and projects, do them for yourself like you used to and I'm sure the majority of your patrons will enjoy them-- just like we used to when you did this for your own amusement.

makai9

Or maybe Briar and Key, those two have gone on adventures on thier own if thier encounter with Bel and Eros is anything to go by, and thier background isn't much of a focus im sure you can have some fun just focusing on them

Ultrasound7

While I do like the idea of option two, if its too much to ask you to do something you dont want to do, then I won't. If you want to take a break with Mark and try some on new im totally fie. With that. But here's a thought, instead of a new female lead to focus on why not an older character, like Nadia Mechant, you only have two pics of her, and her plot is about as simple as it gets, not to mention you have plenty of fanfics with her name on them to compensate.

Ultrasound7

Brutally honest, I want Cadence.

2

Ryochou

Either way, you do you

BlightTheEternal

My comment (and dantels reply to it) seem eaten by internet monster: Summary go with 2, is easier and not risk to wanna go back later

Ace

It would still be in the Mark/Nadia/Bell world so she could meet any of those characters. She'd be generic, in that she's just a swordswoman and that's all there is to it.

I wouldn't hate option 1. It would just be sorta inconvenient, because I'd need one or two comics introducing the change.

Hard fucking hard fighting bisexual babes ALWAYS have my vote. I think you look like you've already made up your mind though. I personally enjoy your continuous works, but you gave plenty of that with your paid work anyway, so you should definitely do whatever you're most enthusiastic for yourself.

Wildeyes

Don't have to do long Plotlines but short vignettes as they come to you. Like a 3 page comic here about her visiting a small remote village being troubled by bandits and then have a one page comic about them in some dungeon some time before then where Cuck believes she is being tortured, but she is actually fucking for her freedom (and to get off). Like Conan the barbarian, where one story will be how he is older and a king but next he's in his prime and acting as a pirate.

That black guy

I actually like Cadence more than Mark so the first idea sounds pretty cool. On the other hand, I'm fond of badass warrior women; and I like when you introduce new stories and characters so I say go for option 2. (Besides, not any point in doing something you hate when the second option is the better choice)

BlightTheEternal

I'd be up for option 1, but I do like the ideas enough with option 2. Plus, D&D would be fun shit anyways.

Greg

Option 2 sounds better. Would she be Fully generic or would there be any chance of Mark crossovers?

Dantels

Thanks. I do think I work better when I'm doing something fresh.

option 2, cadence is great and all, but it sounds like you'll have more fun doing option 2, and that's really the key here ...

DresdenQ

Go with the flow second option keep it simple and fun

DarkKrow13

Option 2 i suppose. Both sound great really ^^ maybe you can do one now and the other one at a later date !
