This is a bit of a personal "What would you do if you were in my shoes?" question: In January of 2023, after 14 months of training and 4 matches in front of a crowd (none of which you can find on CageMatch), I left the pro wrestling business to pursue some unfulfilled dreams in the shootfighting world. Since leaving, I haven't taken a single bump in a wrestling ring, and I've been getting my name out there as a competitive submission grappler in the Northeast circuit. My desire has always been to fight MMA, but a variety of things have put that first fight on hold, and I'm making it my goal to finally have that first fight before the end of the year, fight as many times as I can afterwards, and see if I can make something of myself before I turn 40 (which is 11 years from now). With all that being said, there are still days where I miss pro wrestling and ask myself "What if I had gotten over my insecurities that held me back, and I stuck around?" And a friend with significant pull in the pro wrestling business who also does jiu-jitsu saw that I was missing wrestling, and wants to help me get my foot in the door for a future opportunity should I decide to come back. So he gave me a challenge for next week to drive 4 hours one way, help set up the ring and stage for his event that's happening the next day, and get a read of the room to see if my presence there feels right. To see if the backstage wrestling environment feels right for me to be a part of. To see if whatever anxiety I feel in that environment is a positive feeling of excitement or a negative feeling of terror. My question to you is should I take this friend's offer to drive 4 hours one way and help set up for his show? What would you do if you were in my shoes? Hi Sean, glad to have you back! When Kosha Irby came into AEW, the shift we were to anticipate was for AEW to run bigger markets. However, they're set to run in Palm Springs, CA, Loveland, CO, and Council Bluffs, IA, which aren't big markets and haven't been drawing well at all based on recent estimates from the Observer. Why not run the bigger nearby markets like San Diego, Denver, and Omaha? Why book these venues? Kosha Irby has done some good work for AEW, but these decisions are a head scratcher to me.

A lot of the booking of Drew and Punk right now feels like it could be geared towards a double turn of sorts (Drew despite, being a heel, consistently bringing up times he’s been “wronged” that don’t sound delusional and Punk being smarmy (which granted is part of his babyface appeal) about wanting to fight Drew but doing it from a skybox or in the ring known Drew has “left” and etc.) Any idea or even just opinion if that’s either the plan or something WWE might pivot to, especially with the Castle show coming up where Drew will get a huge babyface reaction no matter what?
