I would say upgrading is scary but once you have done it once it is easy i build my own PC and rebuild my old PC rig so yea it is scary but it is worth it. if your going to upgrade your ram check your motherboard's spec some models only allow 32 GB of ram as a max limit along with only certain model types of ram its confusing as hell but it is worth it at the end.

I guess it was. I managed to fix it, but holy shit. I was literally just waking up my roommate to ask him to drive me to the nearest computer place tomorrow morning. He is relieved I fixed it.

It may be only the RAM, no worry as the information must be still there, you are not dead as we understand when shit happens, could be the PSU or another thing that is not affect what you have.

If you actually removed the sticks, double check the RAM is secured properly. If there are other slots you can use try moving them between them. If you can, get some compressed air and blow out the slots (from a reasonable distance) as well, entirely possible to accidentally force something small in there. Your files should be safe, starting and shutting down like that is more than likely hardware issues that aren't related to the hard drives.

Hay man I have been there before it's possible you ran just died I would google your motherboard and find out what ram it take. The. Go to bestbuy and get some new ram if that don't work u and return it Also if it the ram ur hard drive should be fine you can install it in a new computer
