Fightful reported Friday that WWE was looking to imminently re-sign him. This weekend, Wrestling Observer reported that a deal was signed in October, but sources close to Cody himself claim that there's some confusion on that front.
Their claim is that the approach and initial offer from WWE was made in October, but no deal was signed at that point. One is expected to be signed, and an agreement is in place, we're told
There were several wrestlers that were also under the impression Rhodes had re-signed, or was going to imminently.

Yeah it was just more real in AEW. Hard to explain. I miss the Ellis Island level promos. The work leading a company. Not wrestling the same guy 3 PPvs in a row or having the same tag match against the same stable every week. I just think early AEW Cody was far more interesting than anything he has done since

2023-12-23 20:24:25 +0000 UTCWouldn’t be suprise if he has agreed to a deal verbally what interesting about Cody is he signed a three year deal with WWE back in 2022 meaning his deal wouldn’t expire until 2025 & even then your talking late 2025 because of injury time to his deal & despite the fact they have 18 months left before his current deal expires they are already trying to re-sign him which should tell you how high they are on Cody. All the reports I’ve seen on the situations seem to indicate that Cody either signed a new deal or it’s a case of people in WWE & people close to Cody expect him to sign a new deal
