Lots of details behind CM Punk at the WWE PC
Added 2023-12-13 20:53:19 +0000 UTCCM Punk has been at the WWE Performance Center the last couple of days, to positive reviews.
CM Punk appeared on NXT Deadline on-screen with Shawn Michaels this past weekend, but didn't wrap things up there. After being on WWE Raw, Punk flew to Orlando to the WWE Performance Center and appeared without being obligated to.
Sources we spoke to said that even though he wasn't planned for the show, Punk showed up and spent most of the day at the WWE Performance Center. He was backstage and was willing to help anyone who asked for it, and even hanging out with talent in the lounge. Punk was also watching matches with talent and giving them feedback. Fightful's Corey Brennan also heard that Punk was moving around the area, including gorilla, and behind the hard cam area and tech crew observing.
Shawn Michaels was the most vocal WWE-related name to publicly welcome CM Punk to WWE well before any talks were held. Specifically, Michaels outright welcomed Punk to NXT, and sources close to Punk claim that he didn't take that endorsement lightly. In addition, WWE sources tell Fightful that Punk is welcome at the WWE Performance Center whenever he wants.
Ibou of WrestlePurists has a good connection with sources close to Punk, and says that Punk's long-term goal is to succeed the 58-year old Michaels in heading up NXT. WWE officials tell Fightful that something like that would be a long way off, and there are no plans as of now for Michaels to wrap up his run in NXT any time soon. Ibou also noted that Punk would be observing TV production, something that he was known to do in OVW, and would often bend Paul Heyman's ear about.
Everyone that we've spoken to at the WWE Performance Center say that Punk has been a pleasure to deal with so far, and there was a lot of excitement around Punk being there.
Punk has also been taking photos with tons of NXT talent over the last few days.

As long as Punk consistently keeps proving his words of being a changed man right, I can get behind it. Time will tell. In the end, I hope everyone involved in the whole Brawl Out land in a place that they are happy.

2023-12-14 02:52:26 +0000 UTCIt admittedly comes off as if Punk is trying to worm his way into some power in WWE, which makes me feel like the behavioral clause might not have been enough to curb his ego. Also, I was surprised to see that HBK is 58, knowing he officially retired a 2nd and final time(aside from the one-off at Crown Jewel 2018) in 2010. He retired at only 45. That feels wildly uncommon in pro wrestling as a whole, especially since guys like Punk, Sheamus, Christian Cage, Adam Copeland, etc. are still going strong around that same age. Granted, Punk had 7 years off, but he still ended up coming back without missing a beat and looking fresh against Darby at All Out 2021.

2023-12-14 01:01:16 +0000 UTCI’m cautiously optimistic but optimistic nonetheless. Punk’s rubbed a ton of ppl the wrong way, including me, but I’m also not about to root for his downfall. If they can all find a way to work in harmony, we’re all the better for it. I just hope that indeed remains the case. Solid start!

2023-12-13 22:40:27 +0000 UTCI love cm punk but hate what happened in aew. Shawn is a good person to stand up for punk, as another abrasive personality that alienated everyone at one time. Everyone can change.

2023-12-13 21:46:45 +0000 UTCI was gonna say the same thing sounds very familiar. This is a dangerous thing for Punk the more interactions you have the greater chance someone pisses you off and Punk has shown he isn't great at handling that shit!!

2023-12-13 21:32:48 +0000 UTCNo where because AEW didn't want to listen or get advice from CM Punk

2023-12-13 20:59:51 +0000 UTCI don't know if a guy who got offended that a 10 year vet like Hangman didn't seek him out for advice is a good fit for heading up nxt
